Hi folks,

New member here and a new fan of OTR - I had only heard a few songs before going to see them play at this venue last night - so I won't give much of a review, other than to say it was a beautiful show, albeit a little sad, being Rick's last show before moving to Australia.

I had a great second-row seat, and took a bunch of photos of both OTR and Hem:

Enjoy!

Some nice shots Jason. Thanks for sharing. Neat that Linford was able to play a "real" piano.

Keith - Did you go? I walked around yelling "Keith! Keith!" but no one answered. and then Linford came down from the stage and (in not so gentle terms) asked me to please sit down and be quiet while they were playing.

oh, and thank the Lord someone took some pictures. They told me we couldnt' take pictures, and I didn't want to get kicked out of New York, having driven 650 miles to get there, so I kept my camera in my pants.

and HEM was WONDERFULL!!! except they didn't play Reciever, which is one of my favorites. but the piano/guitar/violin instrumental encore song almost made me cry. I think it was Burying Song, but I don't know their song titles enough to be sure. That violinist is HOT (in all the ways you might interpret that).

the sound in there was a bit echoey. not the greatest venue to see a show, IMO, soundwise. and where the hell were all the people?? Radiohead only held 800, and Eels and Sonic Youth were both the night prior. not that many fans in NY? too much competition/distraction? Hem & OtR ought to bring that show round here to Ann Arbor where the folks appreciate a good show by selling it out. I'm mostly upset that I paid 12 bucks in unnecessary service charges for an advance ticket.

What the hell is the Society for Ethical Culture anyway? a church? a school? a cult? wierd name...

I was a bit spacey through much of the show, unfortunately, having just come from walking over the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn Heights and then through the financial district looking for the subway stop, which turned out to be next to that church of George Washington fame that I passed about 5 blocks prior. I will never trust my New York existence to any map other than Streetwise. ever. Dinner in GV was nice, but NY can wear a person down to the nub after 4 days. anyway, the MOTHER tour was great. and a Vigilante sold me a great new OtR shirt. K&L seem to disappear after their shows lately, so they missed an opportunity to tell me what a good boy I was for coming so far to see them. I was going to tell them "good show" and stuff, but I had to settle for saying that to a drummer in a yellow Hem shirt as I left to go hang out in front of Trump Towers down the street for a while to beg for money.

No, I didn't make it actually. I don't like the sound there either, and I was resting up before Northampton. Sorry I missed you, Brook!
