my grandma used to make us what she called airplane salad.

1 box of macaroni - cooked and cooled
1 can of corn - drained
1can of sweet peas - drained
1 can of tuna - drained well
a generous amount of slivered colby or cheddar cheese
miracle whip or mayonaise - enough to coat entire mixture
salt and pepper to taste

throw it all in a big bowl, mix well and chill.

enjoy! smile.gif

I'm from the old school of macaroni/tuna salad recipes, but mine goes like this:

One box elbow macaroni
Chopped sweet or red onion
Chopped celery
One or two cans tuna (It's up to you. I generally taste with one added, and if I think more, I add more!)
Mayo or Miracle Whip to generously coat (so you hear that sucking sound when you mix!)
Pretty generous amount of salt and pepper (adjust to taste)

Before I mix any of this, I drain the macaroni and pour in about half a bottle of Italian salad dressing. I toss it with the macaroni, then proceed to add the remaining ingredients.

I vary this to make it more fancy by using a can of salad shrimp and a can of crapmeat instead of tuna, and adding sliced black olives.

That said, the simple tuna combo is still my favorite! (Fancy now is adding the black olives to the original. LOL)

**Edited to say "Oh. Boil the elbow macaroni first."
