Thank you for the setlists! I know I should cheer about something in OTR's set, but I'm too excited to see that Hem put The Beautiful Sea back in the mix after not playing it for ages. Yay!

I could swear "Tennessee Waltz" was at the end of the regular set, but I just typed it how it was written on their setlist. The show was taped though (by the same guy who did the 6/25/05 Schubas show), so we'll know for sure soon.
A bunch of people yelled out for "Redwing" when Sally asked for requests, but the rest of the band apparently had no idea how to play it...I was kinda bummed, it's my favorite song off that album. Dan also started to play "When I Was Drinking" and then someone else yelled out for "Dance with Me" so they did that one instead.

he didn't tape the Hem set

he's weird about taping bands that he's not terribly familar with so he said he didn't tape it. sorry everyone!!! but he did get a nice clean copy of the OtR set so that should be up for sharing quite soon [like tonight because i'm going to pester him when i get home]

thanks for posting the setlists Steve.
What a great night in the sauna known as Double Door.
I didn't realize that it was a Brazilian Rain Forest!
Hope you can post some pics Steve, as I never got around to taking any. I was just too mesmerized right there in front.
The music was wonderful (2 of my very favorite bands on one bill),
Got to meet a couple of Apples- Walrus Steve and Alanjay (very nice to meet you 2),
We stood dead center stage right in the front (although it was a little tough trying to make the legs and feet move in any direction at all after the show- from standing), and got to meet K&L firsthand for the first time, talk with them after the show and get a setlist and the poster signed by them (life is good).
Got to 5 record stores- my faves were Evil Clown (the girl behind the counter personally knows Neko Case and Kelly Hogan, so we had a rather long chat) and Reckless- and found lots of goodies.
All in all, a great weekend in the Chicago area- topped off by a great show. And both bands played some new music, and which is sounding real nice.

he didn't tape the Hem set

That's very sad! At least half the show got captured, though.
Also, just to be obsessively complete, from what I hear Hem also played "Pacific Street" in the encore between the two songs already listed.

sounds like a nice show, can't wait for tomorrow night in bloomington. a beautiful night of music in a beautiful littlle town, in a beautifiul little old theatre, sitting across from the courthouse in an old timey "town square" (at christmas, i swear it looks like a scene from "it's a wonderful life").
so steve, were rachael & steve there? haven't heard from her for a long time, hope all is ok. and did you see my friend jay & his wife? (you met at schuba's, he was the one that picked up the dinner tab, remember?) they were there and blown away once again. three shows in less than a year, i think they are hooked (and he's "considering" meeting me in bloomington for a "business meeting" tomorrow), his wife was the one that requested "firefly" from karin in the bathroom, she told her..."please my husband loves that song and he's a friend of bill's...so please". and they were amazed that she actually added it to the set and mentioned her in the intro.
i love those guys.

I forgot about "Pacific Street". My bad.
I didn't see Rachael, I looked for her all night...no idea what happened. I hope she's okay, me and Kel haven't heard from her in awhile.

"Firefly" was awesome. I admit a few of the songs they played I'm a bit tired of, and I really didn't start to "feel it" until the second half of OTR's set, but man I could listen to "Firefly" every day and it'd never get old.
