I know I haven't been very active here in awhile, but I wanted to give this to some objective eyes. It's very heavily Belle & Sebastian infulenced, I think, but I like it. These are just lyrics, of course, I'm in London right now and haven't had time to try to work it out a piano yet, but I think I'm actually going to try to submit this or another song to the Wheaton student publication, Kodon, which has a CD portion. Let me know what you think.

Laura the Agnostic
---
The first time it ever snowed Laura's sisters built a fort and had a civil war
By the time she'd woken up it was all puddles and surrendur and they'd
eaten the last s'more
And they looked up at her as they lay on the floor
And they raised their hands to the kiitchen door and said
Laura Laura you missed it all and we're never doing none of it
again--not ever, Laura
Laura you missed it all you missed all the fun and now it's done
Laura how'd you miss everything
Since the first altar call, Laura's sisters have come to Christ no
less than 14 times
Now, Laura likes church but she can never get her arms to leave her sides
But she'll tap her fingers on the pew before her
Like she's knock, knock, knocking on the chapel door
While her sisters and the saints drink wine inside with the Lord, singing
Laura Laura you missed it and it's never going to happen again--not ever, Laura
Laura you missed our train to the sky
Wonder why you missed everything
Perhaps you slept in
(Sisters:)
Hallelujah, I surrender
Hallelujah, I surrender
Hallelujah, I surrender
Laura went to sleep she had a dream she had a dream she lost her voice
She dreamed that Jesus came the trumpets blared the angel said rejoice
And as her sisters begin on that great ascent
On that train to the sky with all the angels and saints
Weeping wine from their eyes as they're leaving the floor
As they raise their hands toward Heaven's door, singing
Glory Glory would you look at it all! Glory glory
Glory glory it's all so beautiful!
Glory Lord Lord you gave it all to us and Oh thank God we took it
while we had the chance cos
Glory Glory it's all so beuaitul
and glory it will happen again every day forever
(Glory Hallelujah Forever World Without End Amen Amen)
Every day forever
But Laura, she never...
And I suppose she got up and got saved and she stopped pretending
And probably now is a missionary
Cos who doesn't like happy endings?
