Ok I get these two questions all the time and never know what to say. It's possible that it's rude that people even ask but here goes... if it's rude that I'm even asking disregard this post. I just end up saying, "I don't know." instead of talking shit (since I don't know what the hell I'm saying anyway!)

Are K & L Christians?

How old is Karin? It's so funny... people either think she is in her 20's or late 30's, never in-between!

I was with a group of people last night and it was their first OtR experience and they were asking me 20 quesitons about the band. Ack! I just wanted to tell them to shut up and listen to the music!

Anyways, do any of you guys get these questions? What are your clever responses?

Thanks in advance!

Oops. Maybe should have put this in the "lies, rumors and general misunderstandings" category!

yes. and very open about it. but, they do not consider themselves and/or "over the rhine" a "christian" band.

2 or 3 yrs ago, karin openly talked about her 20th high school reunion being cancelled that summer due to lack of interest. personally, i would never, ever, attempt to guess a woman's age. wink.gif ever. you however, can do the math for yourself. (and linford celebrated his 40th a year or two ago also)

But it's well known she didn't finish high school until she was 32, putting her in the 32+20 year reunion+3 years since then =55.

Are K & L Christians?

Common belief is that they are the only true "Christian letters"... so, basically, every time you use the word "KILL," you are using Christians to potentially spread hatred (either that or play video games). Though, the usual comeback is "it's the 'I' -- there's an 'I' in kill -- don't blame the 'K' & 'L'."

Oddly enough, MILK is less christian than KILL. BACON isn't Christian at all, but PORK is... go figure. I think God doesn't like small strips of things. MorningStar Farms has no 'K' or 'L' at all. That suits me fine - as worrying about what's Christian or not can be summed up as "things that are like washing of hogs to me" (loosely paraphrased from John 3:17).

Björk's early band KUKL is, by the same theory, 75% Christian. Oh, I could go on (and have)... if you want to read more, my doctorate thesis on this very topic is available online...

This reminds me of a nagging question... can God come up with a word so offensive that he himself can't say it?
