Well, not
entirely true. The one thing better than playoff hockey is the 'Canes winning 6-0 against the Devils in the first game of round 2 in playoff hockey!

As enjoyable as it was to see Carolina smack Brodeur around on his birthday, that doesn't compare to being in the arena when your team sweeps the Wings. Of course, I also wasn't complaining as I watched the Ducks shutout the Avalanche for the second consecutive game yesterday.

I wouldn't complain at all about a Ducks/Canes final. That matchup would be pretty entertaining, I'd think.
The Ducks' new ownership group has announced that beginning next year they will be known as the "Anaheim Ducks" rather than as the "Mighty Ducks of Anaheim". New logo and uniforms are to be revealed sometime between the end of the season and the draft.

I wouldn't have expected any of the series to go 3-0, let alone 3 of the 4. Stayed up late watching the SJ-Edmonton OT and was very, very happy that the Oil were able to get the win. Now I just got to hope that the Sabres and the Ducks close out their series tonight.

I think they are right now, the way they're playing. My gut said before though that the Sharks were the team to beat. Of course, I thought Ottawa was the best team in the
league and the Sabres are smackin' them around like they're payin' cash for it.

At the moment they may well be playing better than anyone else, but they've had difficulty all year long handling both San Jose and Edmonton. Whichever of those two they get in the next round, I'm gonna be pretty nervous.

What a great game... those guys were playing a real finesse game until the last 20 minutes, and then the Sabres started bruising everything they touched. That's top-notch hockey.
Swami Troy predicts that Carolina or Buffalo, whoever wins, will absolutely dismantle Edmonton in the finals. The likely break the Oilers will get will work against them.

That was such an unbelievably frustrating series to watch. You could easily make the case the the Ducks outplayed Edmonton in at least 4 of the 5 games, yet they only managed the one win. Not a fun way to end the season, but considering that until the final month or so of the season I didn't even expect them to make the playoffs I can't be disappointed.
Now that they're done though let me just say GO CANES!!

My OTHER bet, by the way, is the 'Canes in 6 games vs. Buffalo. They won 4-1 in Buffalo, then won last night at home... I'm stickin to my guns. 'Canes in 6, then onto a bruiser against Edmonton.
Which we'll win, of course.
