Eternally Striving
Gah...the new quarter has consumed my entire existence. And soon, the Seattle International Film Festival is starting, so even more of my life is going to be consumed, albeit with something I really enjoy. I have like a week and a half to catch 15 SIFF films for class...

On my weekend list:

-High Art: I've seen it before, liked it a lot, and want to watch it again.
-The Edukators: It was recommended to me by my friend. Totally new director to me.
-Winter Sleepers: Film by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior). I'm confident it'll be good.

And to learn me some film history:
-The Passion of Joan of Arc: Arguably the most influential film to Danish director (and personal favorite) Lars von Trier
-The Third Man: My first American film noir flick. Should be really interesting.

Ahh, the joys of cinema.

Amanda, I wouldn't recommend Wintersleepers. It's probably my least favorite of all the Tykwer movies I've seen. A lot of gratuitous sex/nudity in it. Character development was not that great either.

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed that about Winter Sleepers., but it's a good thing you replied. I haven't picked the film up from the library yet, so I'm going to dig around for something a little better then. Or maybe I'll get it anyway and see for myself. Hm.

I think you'd be better off either watching "Heaven" or "Deadly Maria" if you want to see something else by Tykwer.
