I know there are bound to be many of you who keep some sort of online journal/blog of sorts, and would love to have a list of the links so I can follow along when I have time.

My Live Journal (a great free and EASY journaling site if you want to start out) is at
http://happy2beso.livejournal.com.
Where are you guys all hiding out?

Yeah, I've a blog. It's not a day-to-day account of my life or anything. It's mostly a site for me to showcase my writing, and to post my observations on my life, and life in general. The link is in my sig.

I'm actually writing a screenplay right now about these three people who keep on-line journals. It's been a lot of fun to write. I have a crush on one of the main characters, but whatever...
Anyway, my blog, which I'll hopefully be transferring to a better site soon, is lij.crimsonblog.com.

Any chance your blog has been syndicated with an RSS feed on LiveJournal? Mind if I do?

I have a journal on diary-x.com, but I don't post in it as often as I used to. I keep having moments of paranoia when I fear my IRL friends will find it and take my thoughts out of context and use them to destroy me (and this is the RATIONAL-sounding version!), so I've deleted my archives a few times. Oh, and the whole thing is now locked. Not much point to linking to it, then, is there? Oh, well. At least my
template is pretty.

Walrus ~ I don't think so. I've never joined and 'fan' communities in the past though, so I'm not sure...there might be and I just wouldn't know it.

I'll give it a look this afternoon.

I'm in a few communities, although some like the Porcupine Tree and Marillion ones don't get posted in very often. If you get a few cool people in a community they can be fun.
And, completely unrelated...Your icon/avatar thing is adorable.

"Blog"... sounds like something terrible that happens to people's arteries. We didn't used to call them that, but I suppose it's easier than "web site thing where I self-publish my semi-confessional writing". Of course, the term "graph narrative" has a nice ring to it, but since it doesn't sound like something malignant invading the body, it won't ever get picked up.

I hate the word BLOG too, maybe that's why I use LiveJOURNAL for all my writing needs, but it seems that 'blog' is the accepted internet-wide terminology. Still. ICK.
I would happy with completely taking it out of the dictionary.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the word "blog," either ... I am a journalist by profession, and I prefer the word "journal" -- and that's sorta what I think of my blog as, a journal ... but to me, a journal should actually be something you carry around with you, jotting down random thoughts and experiences and what-nots ...
But instead, for that, I use a reporter's notebook. And then tend to forget which reporter's notebook I've written those journal-type things in.

I agree about the word Blog. It sucks, especially because it is a shortning for "web log." How stupidly unoriginal!!! It must have been an engineer who thought of THAT one (the type who thinks that the english language should be replaced with binary).
btw, for any of you engineers reading this, it was more of a mocking of the engineers I work with than a generalization of ALL engineers. Hey, anyone reading this listens to OTR, so they must have some appreciation for language.

When talking to people familiar with the whole on-line journaling thing, I say blog, simply because we all agree it's a pretty disgusting word. When talking to people who don't know anything about it, I say on-line journal, because saying blog makes me look like a big dork.
Agreed?

I'm blogging, too... it's the link in my signature that says "any day a beautiful change." I started it in July of last year (when the media went on and on about bloggers and the election, I jumped on the boat). I'm pretty sure that I have a very small audience but I'm in the process of joining the Progressive Christian Blogger Network so as to get more connected into the blogging community.

kylie,
i didn't know anything about html at all.. but i started messing around with color codes first, and then once i got the hang of it i have managed to do a wee bit of cool stuff with my template. at least a color combo i like a lot and haven't seen elsewhere. it isn't too hard, especially if you start swiping other people's ideas (not hard to do since you can view the html by clicking on "source" under "view" in internet ex.).
