I couldn't stop thinking about these photos last night ... and then I was starting to get bummed out, thinking, man, I WANNA FIND SOME POPPIES and WHY CAN'T I EVER FIND ANY POPPIES??! And so I was absolutely DETERMINED to find some, SOMEwhere in this town ...

And wouldn't you know it?

On my way to work this morning, driving down a side street that I probably drive at least 10 times a week, I glance to my right and see POPPIES!!! And I had actually stopped at that very HOUSE a couple of days ago to snap some photos of their blue irises ... and of course I didn't even NOTICE the poppies because I had no clue what I was looking for!!

(I kept thinking I'd have magical visions of fields of those red poppies like the ones I saw a few springs ago whilst traveling between Nashville and Alabama!)

Anyway, I realize now that the reason I wasn't finding any poppies was 'cause I wasn't altogether sure just what I was looking for!! So, Cher, again: Thank you!

(I feel a blog post coming on over all of this!)

I LOVE the photographs... and also the thread title. I keep reading it as "poopies... poopies... poopies," and it makes me laugh.

OMG!!! Me too! I thought Cher was just being funny... but I now that I've checked again there are 3 "p"s and one "o", not 2 and 2.

Well, now that you've found some, I hope you'll be sharing some photos here. I'd love to see them.

Thanks so much for showing and sharing the poppies pics. They look great.
They usually aren't blooming up here until early to mid June, however everything
seems to be 2 to 3 weeks ahead of normal here this year.
It's nice to see what you have blooming, and knowing my stuff will be a few weeks later,
so it gives me almost a double season.
