So I just finished Choke by Chuck Palahniuk and I was wondering if anyone else had read any of his stuff. His most famous book is Fight Club , the basis for the movie of the same name. I liked Choke a lot--here is the blurb from the back of the book which describes it better than I ever could: "Victor Mancini, a medical-school dropout, is an antihero for our deranged times. Needing to pay elder care for his mother, Vicotr has devised an ingenious scam: he pretends to choke on pieces of food while dining in upscale restaurants. He then allows himself to be 'saved' by fellow patrons who, feeling responsible for Victor's life, go on to send checks to support him. When he's not pulling this stunt, Victor cruises sexual addiction recovery workshops for action, visits his addled mom, and spends his days working at a colonial theme park."

I enjoyed both of those books (fight club being my favorite), although the, um... "end" of choke was maybe a bit much...

Fight club was ok, but I'm not really a fan of his other books. I would like to read the book he wrote about Portland though.

I liked Diary and Lullaby, but I didn't care for his latest novel, Haunted, at all. It was just non-stop gore & violence for its own sake. I do want to read his book of essays, Stranger Than Fiction, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
