I revisited this movie last night. So thought provoking and sad.
Sometimes a tragedy changes everything.

Ian Holm was excellent.
Sarah Polley as well.
Winter scenes of British Columbia countryside quietly beautiful.

I knew this one sounded familiar. It's been years since I saw it. OMG, you're dead on with what you say about tragedy. One hell of a good movie. Ian Holm was excellent as was Sarah. I had to return a movie to Family Video, and of course they haven't a copy. If they don't, then I'm sure BB won't either. Maybe Netflix IS the way to go.
