He came for the nuts
Hard outer shell hides sweet milk
Now he's knocked out cold

He came for the nuts
Palm trees sway as he shimmies
Oh no! Here one comes!

He came for the nuts
Hard outer shell guards sweet milk
Now he's knocked out cold

I'm fascinated by the way your brain works.

diligent farting
over and over again
your snoring stinks less
coldteablues
rest, sipping tiger
your journey south soon begins
fly en masse to roost

sacks of barley
slung over shoulder
cold walk to food
kentuckiannna
red eyes and numbers
sting like white falling snowflakes
on some fevered flesh

spread sheets will kill you,
take your eyes first, then your nails,
finally, your mind

Some haiku in the Jack Keroac American style of haiku, still 17 syllables, and without conscious thought of reference to nature, nor to 3 line haiku (and yet, is still haiku):

Manufacturers place CD's in plastic chastity belts;
I want.

Shoveling snow at 4AM I pause and think
the day sounds naked.

Damp basements and crickets in October
remind me that I miss you.

Sunlight in the shape of windowpanes elongates on the rug.
Please call.

I check caller ID and delete your number;
soon the pain will fade.

just wanted to say, i really like these lovely, keroacian haikus. (as well as many of the others i've glanced through)

My bit for the Haiku archives (every forum should have at least one:-)

bird sees a window
no, bird sees blue sky and trees...
bury the dead bird

This was inspired by
A. dead birds on my patio
B. dead and living philosophers and teachers who teach that truth is unknowable (everyone please get up and leave the classroom - or - why should I pay to listen to you? - or - how can you take yourself seriously? - or - how can I possibly fail an exam in your class? etc, etc. - or - you're right, windows ARE an illusion - ok ok I'll stop!! :-)
