Though I've suspected it for some time (and again w/ each viewing of your work) I am now convinced you have stolen the artistic and masterful eye of Ansel Adams.
ok, I'll grant that you've happened across this skill honestly but saying so doesn't pay homage to my jealousy. So my accusations.. are just those of the 'green' eye of an admirer of your work.
Cher, please keep 'em comin'

Wow! Thank you so much for your kind words. Adams has long been one of my favorite photographers. A huge thrill for me was seeing an exhibit of his at Chicago in 2002. I only wish I would have had more time as there were 3 rooms full of his photographs. That man was a true master. Seeing the O'Keefe collection was another huge highlight for me as well. Just thinking of viewing those originals still send thrills down my spine.
Thanks again!

My fave was also #6 Mystique. Very cool. Something about how the light coming through the leaves looks. Awesome.

Ohhhhh Trudes, I LOVE your Ghost House shot. Do you mind if I snag it for my wallpaper? I've been there twice as you know and remember how cool the adobe was. Very, very nice.
Steve, thanks so much for your kind words. I'm partial to that shot as well.

speaking of wallpaper...what's the chances of mystique becoming available for a screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 (or thereabouts)?

Please tell me the best (most economical for the website) way to display pictures in a thread.
Using the attachment feature which displays a thumbnail which we can enlarge....
or using, for example, Flickr and copying the url into the IMG code button and having the picture appear.
I don't remember what you have said. Please explain in simple non-computer language.

Trudes -
If you use Flickr or Photobucket, you can post whatever photo size you like here in the orcahrd. I try to post the medium size more often than not, but there are times when I want to show more detail, so I'll post the large or original size and not worry about using up bandwith.

Cher,
I love your Robert Frost Tree and My Father's Hands. Both completely different subjects, of course. But, to me, both offer a sense of strength and softness and warmth and solidness and timelessness.
Thank you, Cher.

Carolyn & Kylie Jo -
Thanks for taking the time to look and for your comments. I really like the way dad's hands turned out in the sepia mode. I must give credit to Trudes, who quite a while back posted a photo of her mother's hands on the Cowboy Junkies Words forum. She gave me the idea way back then.

Here's a shot that I did while I was just screwing around one night:

That's 3 eggs on my livingroom floor. I took some olive oil and polished the floor in front of the eggs to give the reflection. The lighting is from an ordinary house lamp, blocked off to just give a focused beam of light.
This is an oldie I haven't looked at in awhile. I know some of you have seen this one... but others haven't.:

Wow, Jeffrey... very cool. I hope you cleaned up the olive oil.
I took a picture from the streets of Norwood the other nite. We were waiting for dinner. It was cold.
It's not my favourite.

I like the shot. I hope to be learning how to take better low light/nighttime photos this semester. I hope Jeffrey cleaned up the oil as well - can be a bit slippery for anyone walking 'round in socks!

closeups of guitars and musicians' hands at work/play fascinate me.
Jeanne, I swear, the moon must be larger in your neck of the woods...very lovely shot.

this is an alien kitty plushie I created. I took the photo with my film camera and developed and printed the photo myself and then scanned the b&w print. which looks so much richer than this digitized version but oh well.
