[jp/p], I got my last box of Lady Grey at the supermarket (Winn-Dixie, I think). Just find somewhere that carries Twinings', and you should be in good shape.
Michelle, if I sent you cash for coffee and shipping, could you hook me up with some of that Kona goodness? Pulpexploder's from Hawaii, and I'm (not-so-secretly) fishing for graduation present ideas ...

Is it bad when you get a headache if you haven't had any caffine that day?
No. Just keep drinking more caffeine.
I didn't actually get into coffee until I was about seventeen, despite living for several years on an old coffee plantation in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (you know, Kona Coffee?). But now, I drink A LOT of coffee. I drink tea, too, but I prefer coffee because of the extreme caffeine kick you get with it.
One thing I like just as much as coffee is ginger, though. Ground ginger actually tastes pretty good in coffee, but ginger tea is simply amazing. You should really try it sometime.

I love ginger tea. Great cold remedy!

I don't know if you're familiar with the musician Moby, but he posted this recipe on
his site last December 17:
"if you feel like you're run-down or coming down with something take a thumb-sized piece of ginger and chop it into bits and put the bits in a mug.
then do the same with 2 cloves of garlic.
then pour boiling water over the ginger and garlic and add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
let steep for 5-10 minutes.
strain out the ginger and garlic bits and drink the liquid.
it is very very hard to drink but very very good for you and will boost your immune system more than just about anything else."
Worth a shot, at least.

Has anyone ever had bubble tea (boba)? What do you think of it? My favorite restaurant in Evanston had about a million varieties of it . . . at first I wasn't sure I liked it, 'cause it's trippy to chew something that's in your drink, but now one of my favorite things is to find a boba bar and order up an iced coffee or coconut milk tea. It's a nice departure from the massive amounts of regular coffee and tea I consume . . .

Boba tea is amazing! I had it for the first and only time at a Lunar New Year celebration on campus last year, and have missed it ever since. I think I had the lavender kind. Mmmmmmm ...

I think what I like best are those fat straws they come with. I wish I had a big stash of those fat straws, so I could drink everything with them.
You might try looking for restaurants that sell 'em, FlaGirl . . . the place I used to get them was a Pan-Asian restaurant, and my current supplier is a Thai restaurant.

I steal the fat straws from Couche-Tard. They have zillions of them in radioactive purples and pinks for their nastily-titled over-flavored slurpees. (Would YOU want to suck up Cold Blood? Roadkill?)

I like tea and coffee. I couldn't choose just one, but I would have to say that I drink much more coffee than tea. This isn't a matter of preference as much as availability. Coffee I like Hills Brothers, just like from A River Runs Through It and enjoy espresso and what not, but drink regular on a daily basis. As far as tea's go, I like Earl Grey(hot), Chai(hot or iced), Peppermint/Sencha mix(hot or iced). I usually add equal to hot tea, and nothing at all to iced tea.

coming from the pacific northwest, i had better say coffee, but having spent significant time living in ireland, i'm tempted to say tea.
...how about i just say, "both"? does that work?
platypus26

I'll agree with the last few posts, and say BOTH. I'm definitely a switch-hitter. My tea choices tend to be black (like english breakfast), though I've recently discovered rooibos (sp?) tea which I really am liking a lot...
Sixpence, where were you in Ireland? I loved it there the one time I visited. And it was even sunny!

Definitely. I was in Dublin a few nights and especially loved all the live music coming out of the open doors of the pubs...with traditional dancers once you walked in the doors. So much rich history (well, and complex) too. I also got over to Northern Ireland --Belfast, and then our hosts took up up and around the coastline. Wow again.

Oh, me too. I loved the music in Belfast though, better than Dublin, as it just felt more "local." I.e., the musicians were getting sloshed and sittin at tables while they played.
The North Antrim Coast, the Wicklow way, and the breakfasts...! DUDE. Best breakfast ever.
Now, ending my hijack, their coffee was crap. But that's just me. It was all boiled. <gag>

I'm out of beans at home and bought Peaberry for the first time ever today. I've never tried tried it before either. I've been wanting to and always forget about it when I'm buying coffee - I went off a valid coffee lover source buddy and a valid coffee loving apple's opinion (Keith likes peaberry). Won't know how it is until tomorrow morning. Anyone got any thoughts on Peaberry to share?

Peaberry is regular freakin' coffee.

It's a type of bean.
QUOTE
Unlike the traditional ‘flat’ bean the Peaberry is round in shape, allowing it to retain a more intense flavor than its ‘flat’ counterpart. Peaberry coffee is aptly named after the small, pea-like shape of its beans. Peaberry coffee is harvested from coffeetrees that produce only one mature bean per cherry, resulting in a vibrantly flavorful, smooth and full-bodied coffee. Only approximately 5% of all coffee cherries ripen into Peaberry beans.
Some people love peaberry beans, some don't. Lot's of coffee lovin' apples in this here Orchard so I thought I'd see how many enjoy/don't enjoy it if they've had it.

I was on a 3-mornings in a row Peaberry high last weekend. That stuff's got panache and I'm a new fan. It was über-roasty smelling and tasting and gave me an extra kick it seems. Coulda been my senses on high-alert too, who knows. Anyway, very nice, them peaberry beans. And Rachshel, the "...just regular FREAKIN' coffee!" image you posted, where'd that come from? This is a hard one being that I live in Seattle. I love coffee but it has so many bad health effects. I love tea because it's more beneficial health wise. I think though were this a desert island choice I'd go with...arg...both!
Boy! That was hard!
And btw I think as far as grocery store tea goes "Lady Grey" is the best ever! It's Earl Grey with lemon added. EG just has the orange bergamot oil. It rocks!!!

Just a little hint for those who drink iced coffee beverages. Save a buck, and instead of getting an iced latte, get an iced americano with extra room for cream, and then just pour half and half in it. It tastes almost the same.

It depends on what kind of tea/coffee it is. I really like iced tea, but not warm teas so much, unless they are very nice flavored hot teas.
Coffee is great in all kinds of ways, but I usually just like a mild flavored bean, and black. No sugar or milk or anything.
