Essentially the last days of Kurt Cobain as imagined by GVS.
His isolation, withdrawl and apathy are portrayed very well by Michael Pitt as is the drug/grunge/rock scene of the day.
The scenery of Oregon and Washington is beautiful.
Sad movie....just my style.

The last three Gus Van Sant movies have been really BOOOORING. Of the three, I think I'd rank 'em Elephant (A-), Last Days (B+), and then Gerry ©...
I like the style and the camera work on them... but the minimalistic dialogue made them tedious to watch...
