This week has been Homecoming Spirit Week here at VU. There have been all sorts of spirit activities for teams to participate in and earn points toward a trophy. Homecoming culminates tomorrow night with the crowning of King and Queen, mens and womens bball games and the Homecoming Dance. Earlier this week we participated in both Banner and Window painting contests. Last night was a live concert (Frickin' A) from Cincy. Tonight was a mens game and then an aftergame Fireworks/Bonfire.

I took this shot and those in the attached slideshow without the benefit of my tripod because I can't find the tripod camera mount anywhere. So, I sat on the bleachers and steadied my elbows on my knees. These were taken in the A mode, f8, 1/4, 400 ISO with flash. Some are just okay and others I am quite happy with. Out of 80 some shots, I kept 26.

Here's one of my favorites:

Fireworks

If you'd like to view them all, you can do so here. (NOTE: If you're using a Mac, you may have to open up Safari as your browser in order to see the slideshow. I can only view it through Safari, not Explorer).

Enjoy!

Cher, those are awesome! I watched the slideshow and it was like my own little private fireworks show this morning! Here's one of the finale of the Charlevoix fireworks over Round lake this summer. They were just shooting everything into one spot in the sky and it was unbelievably loud! The "pole" looking thing is actually a boat mast. There were lots of yachts and sailboats and such all around the lake as the fireworks were going off.... big fun!

Thanks Rock and GR. I'm quite happy with how they turned out considering I couldn't use my tripod. I had decided that I was only going to watch, but the pyro guy did some test fires every 5 minutes, so I practiced on them. When I liked what I saw, I decided to shoot. However, I missed most of the show focusing on shooting it.

GR, your Grand Finale shot is awesome! I can imagine how loud and how bright it must have ben. Good capture.

Thanks again.
