I hate conflict. The grievance ritual is concentrated conflict. I'd need six months of twice-weekly psychotherapy to get over it. On the other hand, pinning Dad to the floor could be fun. biggrin.gif

I am convinced that hundreds or thousands of years from now, after our society has imploded and we have begun to emerge from another Dark Age, archeologists and historians will conclude that we worshipped idols of a white-bearded fat man in red.

On this Eve of Festivus, I would like to extend a Happy Festivus for the Rest of Us!. We've had one heck of a time otherwise here in the paintedturtle household, what with my husband just coming home yesterday after spending 8 days in the hospital for surgery for Stage 4 colon cancer, which has left his liver, in the words of the surgeon, "a mess". He can't have surgery on the liver, in fact, just back on another chemo. Despite what you read about how people come to wonderful awakenings, etc, with cancer, cancer, indeed, sucks. I have been asked about this, and I will reply, I will air a grievance, cancer doesn't improve anything for anybody! That is the first grievance of Festivus this year. Ah, to exhale the first grievance! Yesterday I started Christmas shopping, and I have little time off before Christmas from work. Have been spending most of it dealing with an emergency surgery last Sunday and another surgery Wednesday. However, I do think I am ready for Festivus....

....and with the Eve of Festivus upon us, let the celebrating begin!

Turtle gal, I hope your hubby is on his way to a speedy recovery! And if you both need a laugh try this:

Festivus in Illinois

Read the whole thing. Ironically, the last paragraph would fall under 'the airing of grievances', would it not?
