The Duxbury Store.....the what! It is a small mom and pops restaurant in the middle of the woods East of Sandstone, MN on county rd 30. They make the BEST burgers (Duxburger) and home made bannana cream pie in the state! The restaurant is also the gas station/convence store/hardware/tourist shop (well from the 70's anyway) the big game registration station, and the town/dot on the map.

It is definetly worth the time to find this little place.

I used to visit the "Museum of Questionable Medical Devices" whenever I had out of town guests. It's pretty much self-explanatory--all the weird psuedo-science things people have come up with over the years. They had all kinds of x-ray stuff, these big machines used to diagnose stuff based on the shape of the head, and devices to, um, prevent nocturnal emission...

ummmm....
the furthest north i've ever been in mn is to... shoot, now i can't remember the name of it. lake something. state park. my friends and i rented a cabin in march of this year and enjoyed the snow, the warmth, the outdoors.

the cabin had a memory book inside of it so everyone who stayed there could write about what they did in their little cabin. it was all very sweet.

we had to drive to a little mom-n-pop restaurant to eat. can't say the food was as spectacular as wherever laura was! but at least they had a flush toilet. wink.gif

it was about 2.5 hours from minneapolis. guess that's not so strange. but it was the strangest place i've ever been in the state! (i'm a city girl.)

Here's an interesting Minnesota place, kind of scary though. In Winton MN, which is by Ely the Post Office doubles as the Feed Store and the Pet Shop. Talk about stepping in some dung when you get your bills!
