i have never been much for costumes, but this year i'm going to a 30th birthday party/halloween party. and i need to be something good.

jane mentioned that she and ray are going as jesus and mary.

what will you be this year?
what have some of your good costumes in the past?
and do you have any ideas for me?
MusykLvr
gosh, i've been a rag doll for the past umpteen years because i had to go as something child friendly for work.

will probably do the same this year, as i already have the costume, and the pigtails to match! smile.gif

as for ideas...you could be a hippie. or catwoman. i don't even know what you look like, kelly! lol

my cubemate catherine and her husband nick are going as deb and napolean from _napolean dynamite_. and she said that a couple won a contest last year when they went as stick figures. they dressed all in white with stick figures drawn on their clothes, and then they had masks. that's pretty inventive, i think. smile.gif

hope that helps some! let me know what you come up with!

I don't really think much about Halloween.
I can't remember the last time I dressed up, I may have been 20-21.
I don't buy candy to give out cause no kids come 'round where I live (no complaints).
But, this year is going to be Halloweeny different and I'm rather juiced up for it.
I won't be in costume but I will be dressing spiffily.
My photographer buddy (see signature) is shooting a Goth Wedding at one of the restorts and I offered to be her 'bag bitch'.
This, is gonna be genuinely cool and I am genuinely excited.
How freaking cool is that?

I'm going as a belly dancer. Our puppy, Turtle, is going as a turtle. Dan has yet to decide.
My favourite costume as a kid was a flower. I wore a tutu around my head and had little seeds drawn on my face and wore green. One of my favourites easy things I've seen involved dressing all in black and making a dashed line down the middle of you with white duck tape. The couple also had three small orange cones, two for her, one for him. They were an intersection.

This year I don't think I am doing anything for Holloween but when I was in college (the 1st go around) my friend found a felt donkey head and I had some grey sweats and a sweat shirt so I was an "ASS"

Fairy princess! I LOVE being a fairy princess! I have a floor-length glittery pink ball gown, sparkly wings with fluffy edges, a wand, silver shoes, and a fake diamond tiara. Accessories may vary, but that's the foundation. I LOVE my costume!

Two other things I wanted to be for Halloween but can't manage are Kleptobot and Clementine. My damned hair isn't long enough for the latter, and I *still* don't have my Klepto chest-portal T-shirt.

I was once a Christmas tree. Mom sewed branches from a dead artificial fir to a long green coat, and I attached decorations at will.

I was a parrot once, too. It got EFFING COLD in the Gaspé by Halloween, so my costume was based around a cheery green snowsuit. I had a toucan beak from a Happy Meal, and Mom did my face paint. I liked that one.

I've been a black cat many a time. Black leggings, black shirt, white gloves, face paint, and homemade cat ears attached to a plastic hairband. Oh, and a tail. Black tights double layered over a bent coat hanger frame.

When I was ten, I was a paper bag robot. I used to decorate paper grocery bags for fun all the time anyway, so I used a robotic one for my body and made a robot head out of a box.

Thinking back to my childhood Halloweens, I was nearly always a princess, a fairy, a fairy princess, or an angel. I'd say "I was such a girl," except that the only reason I wasn't Donatello for many years running was Mom's adamant refusal to let me dress up as someone so violent. (TMNT, anyone?) She let my brother dress up as Zorro.... dry.gif

I'd go as Marla Singer again, but I think my hair is mostly too short this year. If I knew anyone who would get it, I'd go as Dora from Questionable Content, but I'm the only person I know here who reads it.

I actually have a costume party to go to next week, and I'm at a complete loss. Maybe I'll just break out my gown from graduation and go ... as a college grad? *sigh*

Right! I could get a trim and totally go as Faye! I even have her Bearmonster T-shirt! But then, there's that pesky problem of no one here having any CLUE who she is....

I know. All we need is Steve to go as Marten, and we're golden.

(Oh, and living the same town would help.)

In grad school, I had a friend who's costume was jeans, flannel shirt, hiking boots and a baggie with a potoato in it attached at the crotch . . . he was a dictator.

don't let that stop you...my brother tends to go as characters from his video games. a couple of years ago he went as faust (the 10' tall crazy doctor who wears a paper bag over his head from guilty gears x). i'm upset i missed him last year though...he went as link from the legend of zelda...my brother in green tights...*shudder*

my mom was standing reading this over my shoulder and insists that i tell everyone that, as a child in kindergarden, i went as a group of grapes. and i *loved* my costume until i walked through the school in the parade and the big kids laughed at me. sad.gif

My roommate and I are going to a costume party tonight as Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble. I dyed her hair orange last night, and we're just hoping it really will come out in 8-10 washes...

the only time i've seen my mom dress up for halloween, she took a blue sweatshirt and strategically glued a few cotton balls to it and walked around with a squirt bottle dangling from her back pocket by the handle. whenever someone would ask what she was, she'd grab the bottle and give them a good squirt.

It's early, but a friend's friend always has her party 2 weeks before Halloween as Halloween is a crazy event here (if you've never heard of Front Street, Lahaina for Halloween, it's a doozy). I can't remember the last time I got a costume or did a Halloween party, I don't even get trick or treaters (thankfully). But I have to admit, this was really fun.

I'd post the pic but it won't let me use dynamic pages, blahblah

I got the stuff to make my pirate costume today!!!

I have constructed a night stand that hangs at my waist with the usual items that reside there. hung from a strap over my shoulders.

Hence a one night stand! That was a fun costume. It is funny who catches the joke.

We had a little halloween party on the 28th. I didn't do a full costume, but did paint my face to look like Captain Spalding from the House of 1000 Corpses & Devil's Rejects movies.

I just threw on a bunch of random clothes, including missmatched socks, a silk tie worn around a t-shirt, a biker's skull cat, and an over sized trench coat. I went as "random outfit number 38."

I went as a scarecrow. They had a costume contest at work and I won first place. 100 bucks. Sadly that was the only place I wore it. Except for this photo which was taken right after I jumped out from behind a tree up at my parents cabin to scare my dad uncle and brother as they returned from deer hunting. They did have guns in the car...... Good thing they didn't use one on me.
