Full Version: What exactly is up Linford's sleeve?

If I were making a wish list, I'd hope to look up his sleeve and find:

a) a live cd from the DP tour (the Atlanta show)

b) a concert date or two down south this fall (Nashville, Atlanta, etc...)

What do you think he's hiding in there?
MyWaterMyWine
Here's my wish list is that Karin and Linford sit in for a couple of songs on the forthcoming 3rd release by the fabulous chill-out brits: ZERO7.

An organic electronica album that sounds like a mix of Iron and Wine and Postal Service, but purely instrumental?

Iron and Wine is the WORST name for a band that is actually great. It's a terrifyingly terrible name.

I wonder why Sam Beam decided to use a name like Iron and Wine, instead of just using his name. It's basically a solo act.

It didn't start out with the intentions of being (1) a solo act or (2) successful.

It is a dumb name. Goog Goo Dolls have it worse off. I suppose Sam should have plagiarized the name from a slummy neighborhood that he lived in whilst in college...

I believe the standard answer to that question is "His arm!"

It would be cool to hear Karin sing on some kind of electronica-ish project, but I'd much rather it be Theivery Corporation or Zero 7. I dunno, all the Postal Service songs sound kinda the same to me...

Yeah I really don't know what he meant by all that...I can't see them doing another live CD a year after 'Changes Come.' Obviously I'd buy it, but I don't think the present lineup is as much of a departure from other OTR records as the 'Ohio' band was. (i do still like the idea of a fan-created remix album though...someone needs to make that happen wink.gif)

I wonder if he's referring to the DVD?

Third, the wind makes waves in the fields. The soybeans just curtsy self-consciously, but the wheat is transformed into a muted golden ocean that ebbs and flows. (Kim Taylor suggested that for our next video, Karin and I run towards the wind-blown wheat in our vintage bathing suits – beach gear in tow – and snorkel around in the wavy fields. Perhaps the occasional hand-operated folk art fish would rise up during a choru

Wow...would this be great?
Maybe just some farm pics for the website...I'll take it.
The website could use a little up-dating on photos and profiles.
The alphabetical lyrics page, as well.

Yeah, the site is in serious need of some updates, especially with the mp3's. It'd be nice if you could just send a link to the mp3 page to your friends who ask why you're always talking about some silly band from Ohio, but I never really do that because they don't sound much like the songs posted on the site anymore.

I know they have a website person, but I wonder if there's any fans somewhere with HTML knowledge who'd be willing to help overhaul the site...parts of it haven't changed since I first started going there 5 years ago.

why not just wait and let them tell us what's up their sleeves when they are ready. i'm sure we'll hear something soon.

i'm sure it will be worth the wait. patience.

I don't mind being patient. I will say, though, that if I'm allowed a wishlist then a tour in the northeast would be on it. (Boston? Portland, ME?)

While it would be impossible for me to make any of those shows, I am going to try to convince a freind of mine to go to the Northhamptom show. She's here right now, so maybe I'll burn her a few best of CDs to convince her.
