I believe it's primarily folding chairs, if I remember correctly. Outdoors in an enclosed area.

It's a beautiful outdoor venue in the middle of Coney Island. They usually set up bunches of rows of folding chairs in front of the stage and have tables with chairs around them off to the sides. There's a balcony that looks down on the stage, but I don't know if they have chairs up there, or if it will be open for certain. It's not huge and there should be no problem hearing them wherever you are. I, personally, like to dance in the back, but OTR fans tend to be lazy ol' sitters.

Very sadly I won't be able to make it to the concert, however if you wish to see some pictures of Moonlite Gardens here some are.
http://home.cinci.rr.com/debbieandmark/photos2.htmALL the pictures were taken at Moonlite Gardens and are of my wedding there last summer. So several are of family and friends. But you can get the idea of how everything looks.

Here are some pictures I took the summer before the wedding...
it will give you an idea of how things look the big open area where the stage is, is where the chairs are set up. On the sides, are round tables with chairs. The second floor is usually open and there are 2 person tables up there. The bathrooms are typically clean and there is a bar where you can get drinks. Outside the Gardens in the park are rides (nothing like Kings Island, Coney Island actually was The Kings Island until they moved it up to where it is now) there is a play area and play ground. Oh, there are peddle boats and a small food court type area you can get food.

I highly recommend sitting down in the courtyard of the venue for the show, where the serious fans are. My only Moonlight Gardens experience was almost ruined because I sat in the back in the covered area in front of some morons who talked loudly the entire night as if there was no show at all going on.

Okay...the show was absolutely fantabulous! This is only the second time I've seen them (once in hometown, nashville) but...WOW! Both times, I left just craving more...Lookin Forward to seeing them soon again...
I have a question, though...in risk of proving my
'newbie' status...
What was the song Linford sang? the one that made Kim Taylor laugh nearly uncontrollably? Karin did the vocal/scat?
Its STILL in my head! Thanks for any help!

That song is Jack's Valentine, where Linford once again ad-libbed some lines, to great laughter of not just Kim Taylor....
Here the complete setlist:
I Want U2B My Love
Born
Spark
Looking Forward
Jesus in N.O.
Suitcase
Bluer
Drunkard's Prayer
The World Can Wait
Firefly
Show Me
Jack's Valentine
Moondance

Hush Now
Mrs. Robinson
All I Need is Everything
-------------
Latter Days
Changes Come
Linford's written notes on the setlist include:
"Thanks Coney _______!
Zucchini
Lucky
*Signing*
Say Hello to Many of You
PROPOSAL?
The Zucchini joke was great. I wonder what Linford meant by Proposal?
Great show all around. This one will be memorable for me, because I took my 15 yr old daughter and she absolutely loved it. She's listening to OtR as we speak... Another lifetime fan!

Well, I am back in Alabama from my quick jaunt up to my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
I can't imagine a better reason to drive 425 miles. What a great show at Moonlight Gardens! Of course, whenever I see OtR there I have never been disappointed. I think the best song of the night had to be Firefly... it blew me away! Gotta say The World Can Wait was also pretty spectacular.
I brought 2 new recruits to the show. They are now hooked. Ahhh... Karin and Linford.. as I mentioned at the show.. when do I get my toaster?
Anyway, I will make my next trip up north to Canal Street. Hope to see other Apples there and hang out with all of you.
K&L.. thanks for making me never regret making the drive to Cincinnati every time you play!!

Despite Linford's set list, they didn't play Changes Come. They played Cruel & Pretty, followed by Latter Days for the second encore.
Firefly was excellent, but I was transfixed during The World Can Wait. And Mrs. Robinson...wow. I need a recording of that bad. Luckily, there might be one coming...

See, I thought it was cool because of the novelty and because of the lyrics and our times and all that, but I hope they eventually decide to change the arrangement from the S&G version. I figure it was prolly a spur of the moment decision and maybe they didn't have time to work out a new arrangement, but I hope they do in the future. I prefer a band do something new with a song that that's classic and perfect in the original form. A band as good as OtR could bring something very interesting to that song. But I agree, it was cool. And funny as hell!

You'll all be happy to know that everything seems to have turned out pretty well (audio and video). The first half of Kim's first number (Hit Me) is lacking the soundboard source (story for another time), but the mics into the camcorder will suffice. Otherwise, very nice-sounding. I'm still definitely an amateur videographer, but I think you're going to like it. But you'll have to be patient. I'm doing Kim's tracks from both nights first to give to her Friday in Columbus, then finishing the Dame show, then starting on Coney Island. Both shows are matrixes (matrices?) . . . Probably looking at a good three weeks by the time I have the menus done, etc. I hope to make it worth your wait
