does anyone have any favorite commercials?

usually they are silly and pointless, but every once in a while there are some good ones.

i personally love the glad trash bags commercial where they catch an elephant running through the streets to demonstrate the strength of the new bags.

and the raccoons that steal an suv and go through the wendy's drive through always makes me smile.

any others?

i'm still a sucker for the HP printer commercials. no matter what i'm doing, they get my complete attention each time, they never get old.

and the citibank identity theft commercials are just plain briliant.

I caught a new one last night and nearly fell off the couch from laughing so hard. That may be a slight exaggeration, but it was the first LOL from a commercial i've had in a while.

It was for Steak 'n Shake's milkshakes. Sean Paul's 'Shake Dat Ting' was playing and the guy was just standing there shaking a cow. The closeup of the jiggling udders was what nearly put me over the edge.

This one wins for me ..... hands down this year.

A little history for those of you who don't know who Bob Roll is.

He was a cyclist in the 80s.

Lance Armstrong and Mario Cipollini, fine examples of the fit human physical form, were photographed all nekkie on their bikes, profile, only wearing cycling shoes.

Spoof! huh.gif

It pauses some during the playback, but watch the full 30 seconds....

and yes, it really did play on TV!

I think i cried the first time I realized one of my favorite Cure songs was now being used to sell printers. *sigh* Nothing is sacred anymore...

The worst commericals outside of the overly sexist SUV ads that I've ranted about previously are Subway...except for one time when I needed to eat before a gig and it was the only thing there, I haven't been to a subway in many, many years, just because Jared is really, really annoying. I mean, I'm glad he lost weight and likes Subway so much, but seriously, get a new ad campaign, it's about time.

(second worst commercial award goes to the Diet Pepsi ad with the Ramones song in it...good god...)

And yes, I know it's 2005 and I need to get over the fact that all my favorite songs are little more than ad jingles now, but it still hurts a little inside...

I'm not really sure what the commercial is representing - something to do with "It takes a lot to be a dad." It's the one where the guy is dancing in his living room and looking more than a bit goofy. I think there's someone (besides the viewer) who looks in and sees this. The camera pans down and there's a little girl dancing the same dance as the man. That's when it says something about taking a lot to be a dad. Gets me every time.

I also love the Vonage commercial where the woman's standing there talking about how easy it was to hook it up and how she did it herself and there's her husband in the background dancing in their living room. She turns around just in time to see him "whipping" someone and then looks back at the camera with a pained, embarrassed look. Cracks my a$$ up. I like the Vonage commercial with the nudists in the background as well.

Someone PLEASE PLEASE tell me that I'm not the only one who's cried over the Hallmark commercials.

Anybody.

Just say it.

Even if it isn't true . .

They COULD make you cry . . .right?
