I really do love their music, and this set sounds like it was pretty great ... I will, however, be very grateful when K&L open up the vaults and start mixing in some other stuff.

I was at the 6/24 show at Blueberry Hill and if I remember right the set list was the same and was great. L&K were very funny that night also.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed that the entire setlist came from 'Ohio' and DP (except for the two obvious GDBD tunes and the covers). Although it was the first 2005 show I've been able to go to, so the full-band DP stuff was all new to me, which was nice. And I'd never heard them do "Lifelong Fling" or "Suitcase" (my 2nd favorite song off Ohio) before, so all in all a good show. The show was on the short side, they came on around 11:10 and ended at 12:30.
I think they were a little tired, they'd driven 6 hours from St Louis that morning/afternoon, and gotten to Schubas to discover there was another band playing at 7:00 and their show wasn't going to start until 10:00...we saw K&L before the show and they were pretty pissed at the venue (they were still pleasant and kind as always, but you could tell they were a bit peeved)...so it was a better than average show, but it didn't quite reach the level of the truly magical shows that they're so good at doing. I have a feeling tonight will be a little more energetic, since they won't have to travel and Karin can go shopping all day.
I'll post about the second show when I get back tonight.

yes. a very nice show last night. no new ground broken on the set list as mentioned (but, this doesn't bother me as much as some of ya'll) but a great set all-in-all, imnsho. they all seemed really on, to me karin always seems a little feistier on stage when she's a little pissed off. as steve said, they had no idea that there was an early show prior to their's and before the show, it seemed that they were just a little flustered or unsettled. whatever the issues were, they got over it or channeled it properly into a very nice set. they were, as always funny, open, chatty and gracious both before, during and after the show. very glad i was able to make it up for the show afterall. thanks much for the use of the sofa steve.
my friend jay and his wife jamie, who were seeing their first show, now seem to now be hooked. before the show he picked up "GDBD" & "Ohio" on my recommendation and he visited the merch table again after the show to add a couple more to his collection. they were both saying that they couldn't wait until the old town school show in december.
steve may get lucky tonight, "changes come" was on the setlist last night (along with kim's handwritten note "Karin is HOT" on her's, kim was correct) but, unfortunately didn't make it into the show. devon said, "oh well...maybe tomorrow night". lucky steve and rachael (whom it was great to see again).

I indeed felt refreshed. Seeing Over the Rhine is like going to church...it does something to your soul.
Bill, Steve, Jay and Jamie were the best company a girl could have! The four of you made it particularly warming from dinner to post show giggles...Thanks!
I am trying to attach a couple pics...nothing huge or exciting, but hey...
Look forward to going again tonight...the soul needs it...

Damn, Steve ... you pose for pictures with people NOT named Tori or Bono, eh?
Hmm. Never knew that.
