Good news first: I can afford bus tickets for the Dayton shows.

Bad news: that is a freakin' long time to be on a bus when I'm going to see OtR a week later, and the trip would leave me sort of broke.

Tentative good news: I am checking discount airline prices from Orlando to Dayton. None under $200 yet. Cross your fingers ...

Expedia.com, Priceline.com, Orbitz.com, StudentAirfare.com, and CheapTickets.com have all failed me. Grrr ...

I'm leaving Orlando at 7:09am Saturday and arriving in Dayton at 12:35pm after a stopover in Chicago. I leave Monday at 5:25am (I'll probably go to the aiport with Trudy since she leaves at 6:00), arriving in Orlando at 10:18am. It really is the perfect flight arrangement, and it is thanks to Trudy that I found it.

I think this is a crazier trip than the anti-war rally I attended in DC last January. That only cost me $60! But I'm so glad to be going.

I was really close to skipping an exam and going to that rally last year, but decided against it. After the school screwed me over (see "majors" thread), I kinda regretted not going.

But I'm really glad you're coming to Dayton. I can't wait.

Tell her it was social education with a group of writers and that it will contribute wildly to helping you grow and nurture your diverse worldview as well as prepare you for the real world. in fact, that $225 really had such an inmeasurable value that the actual dollar amount is like mere pennies. and then give her a big hug and tell her you love her.
