As exuberant as we are about the folks who will be at the shows, we, too, are sad for those of you who can't join us. (I hope I'm speaking for all of us here.) I promise that we will drink many toasts in your names & take many pictures that we will post here when we get back. And I suspect some vines will emerge from these shows as well, so you can experience things as vicariously as possible.

I don't have a cell phone or a phone plan, but maybe someone with free or cheap calls can even call some of you during the shows so you can hear some of it. I've heard of this being done before, but I've never done it before.

Jeanne, what's wrong with you?! How are we ever going to get these holdouts to Dayton without leveraging jealousy and guilt?

OK seriously, I know I'm blessed, lucky, however you want to look at it. We will indeed be thinking wistfully of our absent apples, and hoisting many glasses (after all, Michelle will be in attendance) in your honor. I will be attempting to record the shows and take some pictures, although I'm not so sure anyone wants to hear what Karin sounds like over a cell connection.

Speaking of recording...I know OTR lets you record, but do you think they'll let me (or anyone else for that matter) patch out of the soundboard? I was thinking of bringing my Nomad to record the shows.

I know some people who have done that in the past with no problem. Oh man, I want to be there so freaking bad! Guess the Prince concert that weekend will have to be all the live music I get that weekend. I know, BIG difference between the 2.

Nothing official has been decided yet, but I think we'll have to be at the restaurants by 4:30-5 on Saturday and 4-4:30 on Sunday. And Trudy & Michelle don't know if they can get to dinner on Saturday because their flights get in around 4 on Saturday afternoon, I think.

I'm so glad we have several people attending their first OTR shows coming to Canal Street. I can still remember my first one (although I don't remember everything that was played) -- it was before Eve was released. I got there late & it was standing room only, and I just remember being totally in awe.

Delta and American fly right into Dayton (for holders of FF miles)

There are not many tickets left, though. Call ahead if you're flying in from way far away. Last week, they sold me #'s 44-46 for Sunday and #45 for Saturday. They have capacity for 150. They will sell out for Sunday by Saturday. It's almost 99.34% guaranteed.

Contractor ear plugs, baby. Happy foam ear plugs in colorful orange and yellow usually in a jar on the counter at a power tool shop. My dad has sleep apnea (sp?) and anytime I'd stay in hotels w/ my folks before he got his breathing machine he'd vibrate the walls. Happy happy joy joy for those lil' foam contractor ear plugs.

Even if you were kidding about Keith, you may want to get a pair just in case. I'm packin' mine, yo.
