in case you all didn't know, now is the time to go hog wild in victoria's secret. semi-annual sale. 25-40% off.

as expensive as good underwear is in general, i'm pretty excited!
kay anthony
And I was just starting to get my Vickie's card paid down.

Victoria's Secret = crack for jen
J. Marie Hall
yes, but the bright spot is that at vickie's you can choose to display crack or not. smile.gif tee hee.

girl, i'm lovin' the satin and lace demis, but for the undies i'm more of a bikini/low rise gal.

i looked for what you're talking about on their site--all the meshes in retro seemed to be v-string. am i in the wrong place?
michelle
I love the mesh too!!

jaem, I'm a low rise bikini gal too, I've got both these styles in mesh:

bikini

hipster

the hipsters are new for me and i'm still getting a little used to the fit/rise. they're lower than the low rise bikini which works well with my love for low waist jeans/pants. i like 'em.
FloridaGirl
Aw man, why did you ladies have to tell me this? I went to their last semi-annual sale, and I think I got addicted.

It's amazing what the promise of cheap low-rise panties can do to an otherwise rational girl.
michelle
i also ::love:: the body by victoria line. bras and panties, that material is to die for. i love the material so much that i constantly space-out on the fact that they're called "body" by victoria for a reason, they really do flatter the uh, upper region of the female body withough having that fake "wonderbra" feel. liberating, i tell ya. i've never felt so good wearing my babydoll and fitted tops.

favs:

shaping demi
no wire (so much more comfy and fitting than i thought it'd be)
and the racerback feels fabulous. i like the demi one better, which i didn't see shown, that one's the full coverage.

and these are very, very comfy. due to not being cotton i don't wear them all the time - but i sure do love the feel of them.

oh becky, it's ok, i'm addicted too. we can just consider this thread the lingerie support group. although it could be seen as a hinderance. *sigh*
taliendo
Ladies!

you're killin me here. too many visuals, so little time. sad.gif
BKLYNFRED
I love you all ... each and every one of you tasty little dishes!

Just thought I'd say that.

i was surprised i liked the retro briefs. they're still low-rise, which i like, but are wider in general, which in a retro way is sexy. wink.gif not that i have any one to share this sexiness with, mind you, but sexy nonetheless.

*sigh.

i was never a victoria's secret person, but i went to the mall with an addicted friend, and she passed on her enthusiasm to me. i signed up for their credit card, which is awesome because you get free panties with purchase, nearly monthly!
kay anthony
They had these great ones, that were in the retro-cut bikini style, but had black thin stripes through the black mesh, and matching bras too. I bought a set and they really remind me of like old 1930s mobster movies. They're uber-comfortable too.
kylie jo
Um, pretty much I like everything Michelle likes. Especially the "hipsters"... only cut I wear.

I'm just gonna go browse the bikini section...

We just received our semi-annual Clothing Sale catalog in the mail today. I see lots of stuff I like in here! biggrin.gif

My wife (a JC Penney gal 'til her dying day) tells me the reason we get all their catalogs is because our daughter orders from them. Somehow I felt better before knowing that...
BKLYNFRED
Okay, here's the deal.

I'm feeling kinda randy, and my girlfriend is out of town. Can I get this thread blocked or something?

Hipsters, low-rise, bikinis ... I'm DYIN' over here!

dohcat.gif
Aaron
Every time I read the word "hipster" I think of people in their late twenties or early thirties that drink Pabst because it's hip, listen to emo because it's hip, and hit the newest hip bar every night of the week.
Lorene
For me, the only answer is thong or v-string. I especially like the body by victoria low-rise thongs. They are all I wear. I can't imagine life with a panty-line ever again. Oh, and my husband likes them, too.
kab
oh, dear. i can't do thong or v-string.
they're so horribly uncomfortable, and i don't even think they look good! they always seem somehow sloppy. maybe i haven't talked to too many people about it, but i didn't know people wore them for comfort... unsure.gif
Lorene
The truth is that I didn't begin wearing them for comfort, it was more of a vanity issue (the aforementioned panty-line). For about six months they were rather uncomfortable and I ended up in my usual bikinis for overnight, but now I can't imagine wearing anything else.

Oh, and I'm not one of those women who lets her thong show in public! I wear low-rise jeans sometimes, but always with a longer tunic-type top.

then i won't say too loudly the fact that i thought the mesh retro briefs (which are actually low-rise) come in a variety where you can untie the sides. smile.gif that seemed rather fun for, eh, joint interest in the "functionality" of undies.
Aaron
Ok, I downloaded a set of fities era training recordings on how to talk to your kids about sex.
It recomended, that if a male needs a release, to kick it with a "one two punch." First part, pray. Second part, any hard work or sport. So Fred, get on your knees, and then go play a couple games of basketball.
Daneel
yeah, that sounds like it would work. like hell.

i recommend uh.... yeah. that.

I don't understand; why do Victoria's Secret ads have the models pose all sexy-like, like they are in a swimsuit or soft porn magazine? Does that make you ladies want the underwear more?

absolutely. i'd most likely just go around nude if it weren't for these ladies and their dedication to the job.

i think it's more for the husbands. they see the catelog and have no problem with their wives spending so much money on undies. kind of a treat for both partners. smile.gif

peace,

they definitely expand their market by tying underwear to the fun of taking it off. they've also enhanced the "whole experience" aspect of people's sex lives. if you're visual at all, the stuff is great. call it a "frame," if you will, for the beauties of the female body.

but honestly, the ads/models don't make me want to buy more per se.

(i used to be pretty pissed off about it all, what with my feminazi don't-objectify-the-human-body and then uberlegalistic phase about responsibility for any male that might happen upon the material. now it's just a "hmm, that looks like it might work for me" or "no way in hell that lace is going up my butt crack.")

i got into victoria's secret simply b/c i went in a store and liked the fabrics so much. so comfy, so supportive. proper shape issues too: cheap(er/ish) underwear, imho, makes the figure look all kinda mishapen. dry.gif

girls, i know you're with me in not wanting to go all anne boelyn on it and have that third breast pokin' out the armpit. ph34r.gif

I really enjoy the sexuality of it,I like the fact that there is that kind of soft-core aspect to it. Though certainly there are more pragmatic reasons to shop at vickie's, like the fact that their strapless bras actually hold me up, for example, and of course the occasional spice up to my sex life between myself and one of my partners.

But mostly I where them for myself, because I feel like one of those girls in the ads when I have an especially hot little number on underneath my clothes, even if, and sometimes especially if I'm not expecting anyone else to get a gander at them on that particular day. I like them because they make me feel sexual, and like I could be a sex object.

I'm not for objectification of women in general, but on an individual, personal basis, I like a little objectification of myself every once in a while. Or more than that sometimes.

and bruce, don't go for the lace-up--if they lace in the back (sides are cool), they tend to make at least MY butt look bigger than it already is.

I don't own a lot of Vicki's stuff... mainly b/c I can't afford it yet. But I'll echo what miss kay anthony said, it makes me feel all sexy and stuff. Like, I know what's underneath these clothes, but you'll just have to imagine. smile.gif

Great thread, ladies. I felt a bit like a voyeur because I was observing without participating. I guess it's okay, now that I've... posted.
