Alright even though is it over a month old I need to tell you all about the Eugene show. I figure better late than never.

First off Aaron and I were late because I got the start time wrong. We were there for the end of Kim's set. The place was packed but everyone was sitting in folding chairs and around the perimeter of the room. Undaunted I ventured up to the front and arranged for Aaron and I to sit in front of the first row of chairs (right in front of the stage of course) as long as we didn't block theother people's view or lean on their legs. This show had a different vibe than the Portland and Seattle shows. I think that was partially due to people sitting. At one point near the end of the show, Karin told the audience that she didn't really want anyone to upset the people behind them, but the audience didn't have to stay sitting down for the whole show. Despite her encouragement no one really stood up until the encores.

Another moment of fun was when Linford recognized Aaron (and possibly me) in the front for the third night in a row. He made a comment from the stage and Karin followed up by designating us as road dogs. She described road dogs as fans who drive as many miles as the band to continue seeing them. Then she said something to the effect that we needed shirts. Aaron and I just smiled because we were already working on the shirt thing here.

My favorite story of the evening was Karin's intro to Lookin' Forward (I think). She dedicated it to Ryan and Drew who were working the merch table. She implied that she and they were all looking forward to looking back on the 'art work' that was displayed. It was pretty bad stuff. She went on a bit about how none of them asked to see it. She then appologized if the artist or the model was there. The art consisted of photographs of a large woman sans clothing except for red shoes having her legs displaying her legs and partial buttocks in different poses. It was unavoidable and right across from the merchandise table. Needless to say I was laughing pretty hard at Karin's commentary.

After the show Aaron and I waited in line to get autographs and say hi. Me being my wordy self started going on about how Michelle was supposed to be with me except she had already purchased her tickets to Dayton. I continued to blather on for a few more seconds. Hopefully, Karin and Linford saw my inept speach as enthusiasm and not a psychosis. All in all a fun night.

Aaron
Yeah, Jack's Valentine was at the end.

And Linford's exact words to me were "Ga'll, this is your third show!" And then Karin gave me the weirdest look of shock I have ever seen, lol

In all honesty, that is my all time favourite concert moment. It tops Rick Florian shoving a mic in my face and letting me yell "FREEDOM, FREEDOM!" at a Whiteheart concert ten years back.
