Great Show!

There was a URBAN ROOSTER INTERLUDE in there somewhere and a really cool little dance between Linford and Devon.

Devon got the mad props from the hometown crowd.

The Mix was OUTSTANDING with paul mayhern at the helm.

Karin Berquist: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Piano
Linford Detweiler: Piano, Electric Bass, Acoustic Guitar
Kim Taylor: Background Vocals, Acoustic Guitar
Rick Plant: Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Bass, Acoustic Fretless Bass
Devon Ashley: Drums

Wonderful versions of All I need is Everything, Give Me Strength.

Here is the setlist. This is taken directly off the original that the band was using. I think it is pretty much accurate except that they did play Faithfully Dangerous, so it is not perfect.

All I Need is E.
Born
Spark
Lookin' Forward
Anything At All
Suitcase
Jesus in N.O.
Drunkard's Prayer
Give Me Strength (K&R)
Firefly
Show Me

Faithfully Dangerous substituted for I Want You To Be My Love.

I second all of Luke's comments--really an outstanding show. I managed to pull both a soundboard (which sounds extraordinary) and a very good audience recording. I'm just beginning to try to create a matrix of these; if that doesn't work out (or proves to be too much work!), I'll just vine out the soundboard. Either way, it's going to be a killer listen. Give me a week or so . . .

And don't forget Kim's pants falling down to the point that she had to stop "Hit Me" to readjust smile.gif

Just a heads up guys...I think the date in the topic is wrong...maybe you meant 5-28-05? I clicked on this thinking it was something completely different.

Not to be a pain in the ass or anything. dry.gif

Were you expecting Luke to give a psychic review of a show that hadn't happened yet? laugh.gif

Yes, it's 5/28--just didn't want to have to point it out to Luke! smile.gif

ya, because i am large, ultra sensitive and about to go off at any second.

WTF. right?

Maybe Drew will feel bad for me and change it.

I am thread title challenged. I even re-read the title before I posted (looking for typos not if my date was right)

oh fuddy dud

I don't think this came off as I intended--I just meant it was a trivial matter in a really great post, and didn't think it was worth mentioning. Sorry if there will be some clicks by mistake, but this was a show worth reading about, anyway smile.gif

The song the Urban Roosters (Linford and Rick Plant on acoustic guitars) played
was "I Will Not Eat The Darkness" from GDBD. Very cool.

Title fixed.

I need people to point out my mistakes, because i know that they will need me to point out theirs. smile.gif

This show was absolutely wonderful!! I can't wait to hear it Shawn! Especially with the mayhern mix.

Do you guys remember when the Urban Roosters interlude came? I can't remember. Also, when did the Devon and Linford thing happen?

Shawn,

I was also taping, sitting just a few feet in front of you! I would have introduced myself, but I wasn't feeling well and wondered if I was contagious wink.gif

I've got my DAT transferred, and will probabliy torrent it on DimeaDozen, as I've done with the other OtR shows I've taped. I'll post here if I do - I've got several other projects going as well, so it may be a few weeks,... I'd definitely love to hear both of your recordings, too - alone or matrix'd together.

Must have been stealthing, as I didn't see anyone else openly taping. I have both the MD (the audience source) and DAT (the soundboard source) transferred, and have just finished the matrix for Kim's set. Thought I would start with something relatively small first to get the hang of how to do it. Very tricky getting them to line up exactly! But I think the results are worthwhile. We'll see if I have the patience to do this with the OtR set or not. I'll vine out whatever I end up with--maybe we can trade recordings, as I don't have broadband. Hmm--maybe I should have used your DAT for the audience source . . . Ah well. Should probably PM from here or we'll bore everyone (too late?).

Hope you're feeling better!
