They were just moved in as part of the official site. They were located before as part of Drew Vogel's website. The Over The Rhine sections went live sometime in September if I remember correctly.

Drew could obviously give you more details. cool.gif

We type very fast. biggrin.gif

But seriously, an exceptional Rhinelander named Drew started this OtR forum on his own website back in September, and then Karin & Linford decided to adopt it and it was moved here to overtherhine.com and became The Orchard.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

In the interest of history, I'll mention the following...

I launched this forum on my site (DrewVogel.COM) several months ago (my member profile tells me I signed up on January 31, 2003, but the board wasn't made public for many months after that. I think it was August or September 2003 when they went "live" on my site.).

Linford indicated that the band was interested in hosting a forum on the official site, and we decided to 'grow' the forum on my site then transfer it to the official site once a few technical issues with the official site were worked out.

The forums on my site were closed and everything was migrated over to the official site in the evening of March 3, 2004. The name was changed to the "Orchard" at that time. Our service provider had some scheduled downtime on March 7, 2004, but other than that, we've been running smoothly and gaining members like crazy. To provide some perspective, when the site migrated, it came with 126 members. Look at the bottom of the main page of the Orchard to see the current count of members. At this writing, we've already doubled the number of members. In just a week or so!

Keep your eyes on the official Over The Rhine site -- we've got some exciting things planned!

On another note, I've got the forums at my site that aren't being used currently. Who has a great idea for what to do with them? Message me privately to discuss.

Very much so! The forums have grown, considerably, in the week we've been on the official site.

It's exciting!

Huh, I thought this forum was born with the World. (that's a reference to a line in a stereolab song btw).
