I snagged Linford's setlist last night, and managed to get it signed outside after the show. It was a lovely show and so fun to meet apples!
edited: i'm having trouble with attachments... if this doesn't post right i'll try to fix it later.
eh, forget about the attachment. the setlist and more are at my blog, www.kewp.blogspot.com.... april 2005.

This was the first OtR show for me and my wife. We had such a good time at the show and meeting some fine folks. The Casbah is tiny, which is great to feel close to a band. The music and performances were awesome - what a classy group.
A few things bothered me about the evening. First is that a band like this should not be limited to just 14 songs plus squeezing in 1 extra; brevity is not okay. Second, a band this good should be playing slightly larger venues with tour buses instead of a van and full road crew. Third, what happened to selling t-shirts at shows?
Otherwise, I was so glad to hear the new songs live. Gives the CD a whole new perspective - really brings it to life. What I still want to know is: what happened to the head of that horse on the CD cover?

I'm about to head out the door for the show up in Hollywood tonight, so I don't have time to write anything extensive about last night. I will say though that I'm in agreement with what John said re: the Casbah. OtR has now played there twice and both times they've had to do early shows to accommodate some other event that night. I'll be quite disappointed if they play there again.
It was great getting to see a few familiar faces (Luke, Nichole, Rachael, Stephanie) as well as finally meeting some others (John & his wife, Katherine, Mandy, and the assorted friends that folks dragged along).
Too bad some more of y'all from out of town didn't decide to join us.

I don't think I'll ever have the right words to express how amazing friday and saturday nights were for me! For now let me just say I met some of the greatest people! Really, Over the Rhine has some seriously wonderful people as their fans. You guys made my weekend!
And to quote pico de gallo, "brevity is not okay". I wish this weekend had gone on forever.

surprised no one has made the obvious "casbah" joke yet.
well, perhaps is OTR ever
rocked anymore it'd be an easier joke... it's been since at least since Moak/Fall '03 since any "rockin'" occurred.

I don't know about that, Dan. I've been rocked to sleep by their music since the Fall '03 tour...

Actually, they rocked a tiny bit last summer when they did "Within Without" & "Circle of Quiet" at the 20th Century & at Cornerstone.

There will be some rocking when Linford finally lets me play guitar with them.

"BPD" will rock like you've never even imagined...

The gray doesn't really bother me, per se, but it's a bit shocking to see just how much of it there is.
