Here is the setlist from tonights show. It was fantastic. Two encores. The second encore is not listed; it was Fever. More to follow.

Couple quick and dirty photos btw - Maybe more to follow, though most of them suck.

Here is some more information on the concert.

It was sold out and packed. we were nearly crushed on the monitors at the front of the stage. I am only exagerating a little. People were there from, Idaho, Montanna, Canada, Oregon, and Ohio. No kidding there were a few people from Ohio who claimed to have come just for the show. One even held up his driver's license when Karin asked if they just happened to be from Ohio and were out west for school. She them being there made her want to take them home with her. Then she asked retorically what they had done and commented that she might find them sleeping on her lawn someday.

Devon was playing drums, and Rick Plant was playing just about everything else. Linford did play bass a couple of times while Rick was playing electric guitar.
Kim sang joined in on Born, Spark, Lookin' Forward, Anything At All, All I Need Is Everything, and Cruel and Pretty. Linford played the accordian on Drunkard's Prayer, and Rick played acoustic bass. The only song that was only Karin was Ohio. Lookin' Forward rocked a bit more than it does on DP, and it was great. Firefly was FANTASTIC, and Latter Days was Amazing. Fever was fun too. They kept it going for a long time. Then Karin finally sang something along the lines of 'Why does this song have a rhythm that will never end?', and the song was done. Both of them were incredibly gracious.

On to Portland.

You know, I think I just found someone else's wallet in my pocket. That's how cramped it was!!!! biggrin.gif

Anyway, it was a great show to break my four year dry streak. And it wa smy first time hearing Kim Taylor, save for a few MP3s here and there. I was surprised (I don't know why) that someone so young can be so talented. I think her and Kaki King should pair up.
Oh, and I made a total fool of myself when I met Linford, hehe.

But yes, off to Portland - my home town!

I don't have any formal bits to add to info on the show happenings. Just my own experience. It was marvelous to finally see Karin and Lindford again. I have a baby due in about 7 weeks and I'm proud to say that this was his first concert. I think he has a crush on Karin already.

It was a wonderful night for me of tying together so many moments of my history together. I had friends there from various Seattle contexts--school (Mars Hill Grad School) and church as well as friends from Taylor university. Some people I've known for years and some I've known just this year. And then to hear songs from the present and the past. I think I need moments like that from time to time to remind me of the continum of my life and the amazing people who have come in and out of it. Over the Rhine seems to bring me those moments, whether that be here or at Cornerstone or in Cinci, etc.

My only disappointment was that since it was sold out some friends I'd invited via email didn't get to go...they didn't get their tix soon enough. I'll have to find another way to get them hooked...

Enjoy the Portland show tonight, those that get to see both!!! Jealous!

Peace all,
cris
