I'm like Trudy, I can't turn this darn mp3 off...

born

i was born to laugh
i learned to laugh
through my tears

i was born to love
i'm gonna learn to love
without fear

pour me a glass of wine
talk deep into the night
who knows
what we'll find

intuition
deja vu
the holy ghost
haunting you
whatever you got
i don't mind

put your elbows on the table
i'll listen long as i am able
there's nowhere i'd rather be

secret fears
*the supernatural
thank god
for this new laughter
thank god
the jokes on me

we've seen the landfill rainbow
we've seen the junkyard of love
baby it's no place for you and me

pour me a glass of wine
talk deep into the night
who knows
what we'll find

put your elbows on the table
i'll listen long as i'm able
whatever you got
i don't mind

the voice over for that last part wrenches me good, ya'll

I've been singing "are" supernatural since this morning.

This song will not leave my head. It was a real problem as I attempted to concentrate in a professional seminar on list forecasting here in NYC this morning.

I am so impressed with how Karin forgoes her usual vibrato in the double-dubbed choruses to reinforce the childlike simplicity of the song's structure and message (I'm thinking this is very much Linford's song), until that very last note. And God, all those wonderful wonderful na da da's toward the end...

EVERYTHING is doubled (very rare for them!) after the first chorus/verse, right? Except for the repeats of the verses at the end? It's tre cool.

On DP (the track) I dig the sounds in general too, and the crickets in the background! smile.gif
secretly just me
i woke up with it in my head.

This is sooooooooooo amazing. I too loved like the rest of you. This is going to be one excellent spring regardless of other events that may occur. I feel like crying anc dancing a round the room in joy. Lord, help those who encounter me in the future who just don't understand.
Jeanne
And it's now the mp3 of the month!

My son heard it this morning. When it was done, he asked to hear it again. Then he said, "Mommy play it again ummm about four more times."

At this rate I will be successful in teaching hime to have good taste in music.

So funny you should post this Christina, because Born is Clancy's new favorite song (not to mention mine). Earlier this week she was complaining on the way to the car about how she had to listen to my depressing music all the time. I'd just added Born to the comp I've been playing nonstop and it was first up. She went silent for the entire thing. Now she'll walk in the house from playing outside and say, "Can you play Born again?" That is so very nice, I must say. Such a cozy thing to share with my child. I love that.
