This is part of a series of Tech Tips aimed to assist Orchard users in adjusting to our migration from Invision Board 1.3 to Invision Board 2.0.

There's a little symbol located at the bottom left of each post which can look either like:

A RED "I" in a RED circle
or
A BLACK "I" in a BLACK circle

The first indicates that the user who's post you are looking at is "online" (or at least that they haven't logged out and have posted within the last 15 minutes)

The second means that the user is "offline" (logged out or inactive for at least 15 minutes).

Is this for members who are anonymous as well?

I don't think so...

I think I'm a little creeped out by members who are 'anonymous'.

ok, i stay logged in as anonymous all the time because ... i'm weird. anyway, when i look at my little button it is red and says i'm online. right now, it says keith is online down at the bottom where all the people on are listed, but if you go to his last post, it says he's offline. maybe my computer is just dyslexic ...

Is this for sure? It will appear that they are offline? Just curious...

Oh, and Jane, does it say where you are when you're anonymous and online?

um, i am not sure, now. i know it didn't before, and i don't believe it does. and now it doesn't say i'm online when i'm logged in secretly, so i think it might be working properly ... did that make sense?

of course, its telling me drew is online at the moment and he's no where to be found, that i can tell, so who the hell knows?!

If you click on a user's name, in the active stats box, there's a category for status; that will tell you which topic that current is currently looking at.

The online indicator tells who has been active in the last 15 minutes, so the user may not be 'around' in real-time...

But will the indicator show that someone is online if they're set on "anonymous"?

I don't know, but I don't think so.
