After the chat time the other night, I told some of you all that I would post some pictures of my pets. So here they are.

This is Samson at 8 weeks old meeting our cat Cirrus. Cirrus thought this could be fun.

This is Samson full grown with our cat Cirrus. While they get along well Cirrus thinks Samson may have been misrepresented initially.

Ok, my turn then. I have a studly cat named James. HE got the name James from his previous owners, who thought he looked like "James the butler." Anyway, he kind of adopted us. Our freezer broke,a nd so we had to put all this meat on the front porch. Well, he kind of saw it as chow time, and just kind of stayed. His "owners" moved and just kind of left him with us. Now he gets into all kinds of trouble, like disappearing for a few days, getting trapped under the house, and he's even adopted kittens himself (probably his own seed, we got to get him nuetered one of these days).
Ok well, here he is....

Cirrus and Samson are very handsome, Christina. Your son is quite a cutie as well! Unfortunately I can't see your photo of James, Aaron (unless he's an albino?).
These are ours, l to r: Antonio, Beelz, Bertha, Dottie Mae and Dubya.

They seem to get along real well, but God only knows what happens after we go to bed at night.

Hey, Keith, here's a local news story for you:
Moment of freedom bearly enjoyable
Owner says ursine pets cuddly; neighbors alarmed
By Katherine Ullmer
Dayton Daily News
Monday, February 16, 2004
XENIA TWP., Greene County -- A night on the town for Bonnie the bear ended with buckshot and temporary confinement to a den for her and two other 250-pound black bears, Groucho and Chewie.
Their owner, David Walker on Jasper Road, just east of Xenia, said he believes someone cut the electric fence inside a 6-foot-tall chain-link fence in his front yard, and pulled the fence up to free the bears.
Greene County sheriff's deputies responded to a call about bears on the loose at around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Janet Grooms, 69, who lives across the street, said she heard what sounded like a car backfiring. A sheriff's deputy shot at Bonnie thinking the bear was charging him, Walker said. Walker lifted up the fence and coaxed the bears back from the adjoining field on his 9 1/2-acre property. He planned to take Bonnie to a Troy veterinarian to check her wounds.
"I think they can be an awful danger," Grooms said.
"They're wild bears and I don't think they should be around a neighborhood like this," said Frances Brown, who lives next door with her daughter Opal Rogers and Rogers' children, ages 9, 15 and 19. "It's scary," she said.
Lynn Rogers, lead biologist for the Wildlife Research Institute in Ely, Minn., said in his 37 years of studying black bears he's never been attacked.
"Nothing is totally predictable. . . . Bears have hurt me, but it was because I initiated the contact. And the hurts were very, very minor."
"The general public idea that if bears aren't afraid of people, they are dangerous, isn't correct," said Rogers, whose Ph.D. is in behavioral biology. "But I would never recommend that people approach these bears."
" I love bears," Walker said. "I treat them as part of my family, my kids. You fight for what you believe in."
Walker has seven state-licensed bears, plus three four-week-old cubs just born to 350-pound Sid. He rescued two bears from a bad home in Akron and bought the other bears, he said. "I want to create a rescue and bear sanctuary," he said.
He also runs Bonnie Bear Farms, a "police intelligence network for security and surveillance", from a small house on his property, and plans to build a 3 1/2-acre underground center for his business, surrounded with a 6-foot block wall. The bears will remain above ground, he said.
To show his bears' docility, Walker unlocked the 8-foot-tall enclosed wire cage of Kodie. According to Walker, the 8-year-old bear weighs 900 pounds and stands 6-foot, 5-inches. Kodie sired Sid's cubs. Walker coaxed Kodie out of a make-shift den with a frozen doughnut, and the two walked side by side.
"They're not dangerous at all," he said. "People are dangerous. People can carry guns. He's a big teddy bear."

And now for my pets. I'll see if this works.
This is Tina. She's an Australian Shepherd mix.

And this is Jake, my new adoptee. He's an 8-year-old corgi/German Shepherd mix whose former owner didn't have the time to give him the attention he needed. So far he & Tina are getting along without bloodshed, but they aren't bosom buddies yet either. It's only been three weeks.

Trudes, I don't think your website allows "third-party" links (I can't see Jake unless I actually type in the URL for his picture on your website).
At any rate, here is Trude's Jake (the feline, not to be confused with Jeanne's Jake the canine):

Sinoel, your puppies are adorable. I like cats, but I've never owned one. I have had several rabbits over the years, but since Tina has killed two in the yard, I've decided it isn't wise to get another rabbit until after she's passed on.
I'm planning to clean my old aquarium out this spring and get some fish again. They're not cuddly, but it's relaxing to watch them now & then.

NONE of you are making it easier for me!

I am in the process of looking for a dog and I had it down to a miniature dachsund, boston terrier or boxer then I see these beagles.......man oh man oh man! I am checking out the breeds, temperaments, which ones love to sit and watch TV with me

instead of going for a run....Actually, I live in a great neighborhood which is ideal for walking a dog. Will let yous guys know which breed I pick.....Any in put is welcome!

Man, I agree...
All these pets are beautiful and they are so special to each of us.
As I have said so many times before, the unconditional love you get from a pet is priceless. When we love and nurture even a badly injured animal, I think we do our souls a favor. There is somehow a lesson to be learned from animals about forgiveness and acceptance. Think of the love and enjoyment we all would have missed had we not taken in or provided homes for our pets.
Hey Russ....
Karin and Linford just adopted a GREAT DANE according to the Woodsongs interview!!!
Has anyone heard anything about Willow...their Weimeraner?
I have heard Karin discuss her animals in live show recordings and I believe she is a true animal lover....well...maybe not the rat in the couch.
(But they did attempt to set it free by carrying the couch out to the porch!)
Anxious to hear what you choose as your new TV companion.

Hoorah for auto-crop. Here we go again...
No picture of Huey the cat, yet, but this is Mana. He's my 9 year old furry snuggle boy. Cool story: I put his care in the hands of a friend in '98 when I moved to Colorado and recently that friend asked if I would like to have him back - allergic spouse - so after 5 years of not seeing Mana he was brought back to his original home. It's been so great having him back. How often does something like that happen?
And it is a hawaiian name, Trudes. And does mean supernatural or divine powers.
Trudes

Michelle!
What did you do?
The pix of Mana came out beautifully on my screen. Now they're gone.
If you have trouble, send the pix to Keith. He can fix anything.
I wanted to ask if Mana was an Hawai'ian word. In my book it says MANA= Supernatural Powers.
He's a cutie.

Regarding Beagles, beagles can be the best of companions, however they can be a bit noisy (bark). I have yet to have one that bays or howls at the moon as we often here from people. They are very lovable and their temperament is excellent with all and especially children. They do get along with all animals and cats, however they do get excited with rabbits and gophers. They are scent hounds and do let their noses get them in troubles at time. They do like to dig under fences and they do fly. If you need any other information on them, please let me know.
Thanks

you all have some beautiful pets! my dog, fox, is pictured on my profile (because i have no clue as to how to get a pic of her up here). she's an australian cattle dog that got a 3rd chance at life. the best part is that she knows it and does her best to be a good puppy. we here at the "zoo" also have a younger acd, but she's only been rescued once (by my boyfriend, from the pet store) so she has a little less thankfullness to her ... both are great dogs and i'd never get a different kind, but our cat, cow, really rules the animals of the house. go figure.

Oh, I wish I had a picture of my cat somewhere online! His name is Charcoal, and he's a 13-year-old gray tabby with a bit of a Meow Mix gut.
