I've moved up to the Black & Decker model myself and haven't regretted it. The best appliance I've purchased in months! That from someone who's recently had to replace both her microwave and toaster oven/broiler. I hardly use my oven anymore, but I still use the stovetop (burners).

A Raspberry Syrup and Milk steamer from an airport coffee shop is a bad idea. They suck ass.

Me too, Keith. I do love me some steamers in a nice butter/garlic/wine sauce.

Other than that, I like the pot steamers. So, metal, but sits in the pot, not foldable. I've got several of those ranging from a small 5 quart pot to the big ol' pasta cooking pot w/ the straining/steaming fit-in thingymabob.

I want steamers now (clams). Don't even think it, Roger.

My mom and I used one of those collapsible thingies for years, until my mom bought a new set of pots and pans that came with a steamer pot. I tell you, it sure makes getting the vegetables out and ready to serve a lot easier.

i voted metal thingamabob. the only thing i ever steam is broccoli. loved the sound of the apples, cher.

years ago living in france, i acquired a taste for steamed mussels. crazy family i stayed with lived on those things.
