Well, you've got to have sandwiches, of course, or something to make them with. I'd take d.'s baguette and make some sandwiches with basil (huge fresh leaves), tomato, and brie. (Mozzerella would be an acceptable substitute for the brie, if you're poor like me.) Maybe other sandwiches that had some cucumber in them somewhere.
Fruit is also a must. Grapes are probably the most portable (nothing to throw away), but apples or pears would be good for fall or spring. Or maybe peaches, if you're feeling a little decadent.

Dessert would be cookies or brownies. You don't want to be lugging pie about, no matter how good it is.
Deb will have to advise you on the wine, since my knowledge of the vine is fairly limited. But these are my two cents.
