I just had to take the faded tag off of the front of my truck and a thought struck me: I would love to have an OtR plate on the front. Also, since I am balding *and embracing it*, I need to keep my head warm and a new OtR ballcap would be a nice dome topper for me.
Any other ideas for new merch from this amazing band?
etc., whatever,
Russ

I'll keep thinking about it, but I have to at least 2nd the hat idea. I would be a big supporter of an OtR hat. I know they had them before in the 'Patience' era days. No clue what they looked like though, just that several listee's out there have one.
I'm a huge fan of the scampering rat also. Whatever the new merch would be, tossing little Scamper on it somewhere would be most excellent.

How about a nice knit hat that I can wear on the frigid trek from apartment to class all winter long and it will keep my ears warm? That sounds nice to me.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but there is over the rhine tribute merchandise available--y'know--the "what it takes to please you" disc.
http://www.cafeshops.com/whatittakesall the stuff looks pretty cool--but the photo and font chosen don't quite meet my aesthetic standards (sorry, Drew)...but that little lunchbox sure is swell!

What didn't anyone ever think of this before?
I have two "homemade" OTR coffee mugs. Since I drink coffe more than I do just about anything else, I had to have OTR coffee mugs. Since none were available, I made my own.
1) I sent in a picture I had taken at a concert to a place that puts the picture on a mug and it turned out great.
2) A listee from way west (and I mean WAY west) sent me a white scampering rat-dog that I put on a black mug.
Not authorized but I have introduced OTR to about a dozen folks after they asked about one of the mugs.
I drink you....

i have to agree with russ. i'm getting a little thin in the back and my forehead seems to be growing. i finally realized this over the summer when my scalp sunburned. getting older sucks. next summer i've got to get in the habit of wearing a ballcap. i like the knitcap idea too for the wintertime.

Hey GBBB,
I use those album frames from RH, too. They are so cool, I think.
Has anyone found affordable frames for the OTR posters? I have mine in inexpensive poster frames that I got at a craft store. They don't really fit exactly, but when I priced out having them professionally framed, I decided to save the money and buy an airline ticket to a show instead! $$

Does anyone have any OtR related tats? If I were to get another one, which I doubt (my 2 miniscule ones are enough) I would more than likely get the scampering rat tattooed on my leg or arm or something.
discuss..

I've always loved the idea of a scamper tattoo. I'm ink-free but I've had several conversations with myself regarding getting branded and if/when I ever do it will be a small scampering rat (not much bigger than margarita's charm) on my outer left ankle. Maybe even a few rat feet prints trailing behind him.
How funny it would be to show up for Taft 2004 and find a lot of us w/ scamper tattoo's.
I also love that there's a much loved rat in the orchard, of all places.

Ooooh, Michelle,
That is an excellent idea. I love tats but I haven't yet made the committment to a real one yet....maybe for my 60th birthday.
But, in the meanwhile...I wonder how those temporary tattoos are made.
Hmmmm....
We could somehow have them made and get them distributed to the Taft 2004 Rhinefest Participants and all show up duly labeled. Yeah!!!!
I will try to investigate about how temp tattoos are made....and get back.
Anyone game?
Anyone with info about temporary tattoos?

Just wanted to reiterate what
Good dog posted in another thread cause it's such a great deal if you need to stock up.
On the OTR website they are advertising a special:

"All three Over the Rhine special collections/rarities CDs: Besides, Amateur Shortwave Radio and The Cutting Room Floor for just $25! These CDs take the listener deeper into the world of OtR and feature rare concert recordings as well as many songs and treats unavailable on the band's commercially distributed releases. For a limited time only..."
That's areally good deal on some VERY EXCELLENT music. ASR, especially,
is not to be missed.

I'd like to see a long-sleeved shirt with a design for the Taft show. Maybe just "OtR" on the left front, with a schmancy design on the back, and the caption, "I'm not sleeping ..."

But I really, really want a "Beautiful Dancing Infidel" shirt. Or one that reads, "Nobody Number One."

a little off topic, but kind of on because they did open for otr last year at taft. I went to a pedro show about a month ago, and one of my friends was like, "I totally want that pedro the lion bag!" We teased her because it was so ironic that a band like pedro the lion who sings against the evils of capitolism and consumerism, would spur such a response as "I need that bag!"
