I am new to this board and Over the Rhine, although I have grown up my whole life about an hour away from Cincinnati, I had not heard of Over the Rhine until a few years back. This past cornerstone I saw them live, and have not stoped listening to them yet. I definately need to get some more of their albums, I bought Ohio at C-stone and got it signed, which was cool.
Anyway, more about me, I am almost 19 years old. I live near Dayton, Ohio. I love body modification. I do photography, mostly for fun, well completely for fun because no one has payed me any money for anything yet. You can check out some of what I do online at www.askewphotography.tk

Pull up a chair and watch the show! There are plenty of photo happy folks here!
Here's the rules:
1. Be nice to Brandon and make sure you mention how adorable he is.
2. Watch out for Kylie
I think that's it.
Our sublime hostess will be serving you your complimentary membership mug'O'cider from the orchard soon.

Hello! And Welcome!
What exactly is 'body modification'?
askewphotography
Aug 23 2004, 01:22 PM
Wondersouldy confusing sounds nice.
Body Modification is Piercings and Tattoos. Along with other forms which I am not really a part of, like branding, suspensions, dermal implants. Things like that.

Here is a little weird story about me. It just happened today.
As most of you who know me or at least have met me. I am an extremely reserved person, and in case you didn't know, I never talk to girls I am just that shy and scared kind of person when it comes to such matters.
Today at school, I almost did something I could usually not even imagine doing. I almost randomly complimented a girl. I must admit I like girls with nice dreadlocks, and those are pretty few and far between in wonderful Dayton, Ohio. Anyway, if we were not passing each other in the hallway I think I would have said something, even if it just ended up in me making a fool of myself, which I am pretty sure would have happened.
This is just such a strange thing for me. This was seriously the first time ever in my life when I actually thought about going up and saying anything to some random girl.
This is probably not as big of deal as I am making it, but I think I have finally got fed-up with not meeting new people and all that etc.

stranger things can happen....
this sounds like me at concerts in london - i normally just keep to myself
however at the stage door of a dire straits concert way back in 1985 i came out of my shell and started talking to a german lass.................and married her some 6-7 years later.
GO FOR IT - YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should listen to the cat, Kevin. Go for it! the worst that could possibly happen is a little embarrassment -- and it'll be worth it in the end!

Dude! Go for it! What is there to lose? Seriously, you're not gonna find a lot of dread in Dayton!
Good luck,

Kevin,
When I sufficiently conquered my shyness around women to be able to have a conversation with one, I found out she liked me. So I talked to another one. She liked me too. The result was a massive increase in my confidence. After that my life caught on fire and burned to the ground. Speaking strictly from experience, I would say that living a life as a shy hermit would have been tremendously less stressful.
I should have read the Proverbs.

Well, I just spent 7 hours with a needle going in and out of my back. Here are the results.

If you want anything body piercing tattoo in the Dayton ish area go to Blue Byrd. amazing service and amazing work.
I think I got about 3 more sessions to go on this one. Add a little shading, and color, and touch up some of the lines. Fun times.

Wow! That looks like it hurt badly. Congratulations...very cool.
I think you should set a goal that you purposely talk to someone when the feeling comes upon you to do so. You are missing opportunities to have some possibly deep and meaningful friendships. The romance stuff would come later if it was meant to. Also, don't avoid talking to a girl just b/c you find her attractive! That is a little bit discriminatory. As Linford said at his concert last night. "You have to be willing to make a fool out of yourself. You have to get that out of the way right at the get go."
Just my 2 cents.

VERY nice ink! Are you going to leave it in blackwork or have color added? The longest I sat at one time was around 6 hours. My leg felt like one huge rugburn after that session. I haven't had any inking done in years but love the sound of a gun.
Who did the work? Is it custom ... your design? Where did you have it done?

Andy Blair did the work, and he also drew it up original to him. I told him I wanted an angel in that stance, and that is what he drew with a few minor changes.
I had it done at Blue Byrd in the Middletown, OH shop. They also have shops in downtown Dayton, and Miamisburg. Definately the best shop in the Dayton area.

Well, I got almost all my tattoo finished tonight, I am still going to add a background and some highlights(fitting colors to whatever the background will be) through the body/wings. The color in this picture is bad due to poor indoor lighting, the wings dont really look greenish at all.

An update:
I am pretty busy, I work 2 jobs, right now about 60 hours a week. My life is sleeping and working, and one night a weekend with friends.
In other news I got my right shin tattoed.

It will have colour in a few weeks. It is partially a tribute to Johnny Cash, my friends, and just a little reminder that we can choose to be happy(if you listen to the Cash song you will understand what I mean).
