Trudes
I finally dug out my turn table. It was actually in my component cabinet for years but since I hadn't used it in ages, a bunch of other equipment was stacked over it.

I dropped the needle on OHIO and to my amazement...everything worked absolutely beautifully.
The sound is excellent. A very, very subtle whisper of friction in the background...the way it should be.

But, the very best part was going through the actual motions of holding the album with flat palms, (on the record edges only)....blow off any little dust particles that may come to rest on the surface and the needle, and lower that 20 year old diamond to the groove.

I was afraid I would have to replace the stylus, but it is not necessary.
It brought back memories of a time when it was the only way other than radio to hear your favorite music. I guess a perk of being my age is that I've, been there...done that...for real.

Just thought I'd share. It's an experience not to let slip away.

Man Trudy, I need to get off my ass and pick up my folks' turn-table. They haven't used in in... years. I asked if I could *use* it a couple of weeks ago, which usually means they don't get it back. tongue.gif

Hey, what's the use of being someone's kid if you can't 'borrow' stuff they never use anymore, right...? cool.gif
