I usually get up around 12 or 1, usually have breakfast around 2 or 3.
calling my next meal "lunch" seems rather silly at that point.
it's all breakfast, dinner, and late-night snacking for me.

3 Weeks left on island...I find myself broke so I must make do with:
- 5 pounds of potatoes
- 1.5 onions
- 2 blocks of cheddar cheese
- 1/3 a box of cheerios
- a bag of some sort of pasta
- 2 cans of tomato sauce.
- 1 can of mushroom soup
- some sour cream.
- half a bag of tostito chips
The GOOD news is, I can make a huge batch of cheese potatoes with 5 of these ingredients...which means that you can just envision me eating -cheese potatoes for lunch AND dinner for the next week. mmmmm.
<making plans to hide cheese potatos from roommates who LOVE cheese potatoes>
I think people who are making tasty treats like cheesy chicken florentine and smoked turkey should send some my way...too bad it'll take a month to arrive

I'm hosting people tonight for a light dinner before heading out to the beach to read poetry. I made a french bread stuffed sandwitch with ham, roast beef, swiss cheese, spinach, sprouts, and cream cheese with scallions and garlic in it. I hope its good and doesn't fall apart.
We had bagels for lunch because i overbought cream cheese for the sandwitches.

Amen, Bethany. My freshman year, all my friends had the same hour free for lunch, and we met everyday and sat at a huge table together. It was the highlight of every day for me.

My folks have been doing their "we're going on vacation in 2 months and need to lose weight!" diet so I've been making sandwiches for lunch for the past couple weeks. When food is good I can eat the same thing for weeks. Pastrami on wheat, is good. But my sandwiches are scientific, they must be layered and built
just right.
Like so:
100% wheat bread - mayonaise on one slice, mustard** on the other slice.
the cheese (provolone currently) must go on the mayo. it affects the texture and taste order of the sandwich.
lettuce (preferably red or green leaf) goes on the cheese.
avocado slices on the lettuce (when i have avocado).
cucumber slices on the avocado.
tomato slices on the cucumber.
sprouts (i like clover) - the sprouts need to be between the tomatoes and meat to reduce the effect of watery meat and a possibe drip on the hands. especially if you like lovely, ripe tomatoes like i do. watery sandwiches bad.
pepperoncini slices on the tomatoes.
2 peices of sliced pastrami on the sprouts/pepperoncini.
slice with mustard placed on top of pastrami.
Needless to say lunch was, yet again, quite satisfying.
**the mustard. well, i'm not a fan of yellow mustard on sandwiches. i like the honey mustards, the dijons, the ones w/ orange and mustard seeds in them. i need fancy, damnit. imagine my surprise while in the grocery store over the weekend to see
Sierra Nevada Mustard. i chose the Stout & Stonegroud one - and it is delish. it may take me a while to finish off a jar of mustard but i'll be trying the Pale Ale & Honey Spice after that. that's cool stuff, maynard.
