Mr. Hush

I have been lurking around these parts for a while.
I finally decided to come out and play.
I have been an OTR fan for about eight years. I discovered them while I was in college...it was one of those deals when a friend who had borrowed a CD from another friend decided that I needed to hear it (I'm not sure if the original owner of the CD ever got it back, but don't blame me if you are missing a copy of Patience). Needless to say, I fell in love with OTR, and within a month or so I had aquired all of their releases.
I currently live in Louisville, Ky and am in the process of settling into a new home. My life is packed away in boxes, I have lost things and broken others, I have things tucked away that I can't get too....I'm afraid of the mess piled around me...I think I'll keep it put away from sight in the basement until I can sort it all out....
I work for a state agency. Well, I'm a cop and a social worker combined. To put it another way, I wear a pocket protector and a badge, a pen and a gun. I keep track of convicted felons who are on supervised release in the community. I attempt to help them integrate into the place that they want to be. When they fail at this, I am tasked with finding them, then taking them to a place where they have been and don't wish to go to ever again. The ones that do make it are daily reminders of hope, forgiveness, faith....possibly luck..but if nothing else, they are an example of the determination not to play out the past like a spinning record on repeat.
I digress. Maybe I am my own spinning record without end.
I have a certain box that needs to be found.
See you all in the Orchard.

Hope the move is going well.
I must say I would not want your job.
(I know it's nasty, but somebody's gotta do it)
Glad you came forth and joined us.
Have fun.

Mr. Hush, thank you. I just formed a new opinion in life. If it started with all men and women who chose a career of representing and upholding the law doing this...

This would be one big love of a world.

Welcome, former lurker.

I was afraid for a minute you really look like Eraserhead, but I guess it wouldn't be too prudent for someone in your line of work to post a real photo. Anyway, welcome aboard and best of luck unpacking! We have a couple of people from the Louisville area here in the orchard.

Howdy,
Certainly it would be swell if I had three wise old ladies living upstairs. I envy you. One of them will likely cook large pots of homemade soup. Your good fortune.

Uhhh.. hmmmm... uhhh... what sort of felons? You know, they're not all violent and things. Some felons are artsy and friendly and they just forget to.... well you know.. a ... remember to check in from time to time.
