Full Version: Touching Evil

I am rapidly becoming a fan of Touching Evil and its star, Jeffrey Donovan. Anyone else?

I knew I reckonized him from somewhere: Blair Witch 2 and once upon in a dual role as good/bad twins in Homicide: Life on the Street. He's very good in this new series.

Still no on watching? I'm tellin' ya: It's good.
Trudes
It sounds like something I would like, Lynne.
What night/channel/time?
Are they in the first season?
oh...I never saw Blair Witch II.
LOVED BWI....was it as good?
Lynne
I really really disliked the original Blair Witch, perhaps 'cause I was watching it with a couple of boys (ages 12 and 8, or thereabouts), and they couldn't keep interested ... or quiet. Blair Witch II was more like a "movie." I thought it was fairly entertaining!

: )

Touching Evil: A detective returns to the force after a year in psych rehab (after being shot in the head!!) and is placed on a special team that investigates serial killings/killers. Donovan plays David Creegan, the detective, and he has kind of a unique perspective/approach to the investigations ... plus he's trying to learn how to adjust to life, really.

Original airings are Mondays at 9 p.m. central; the season finale (Season 1) is this week.

I've been watching for a week or so now... TIVO'd the repeats and have seen three or four episodes, but out of order. I just saw the pilot yesterday, and the others make a heck of a lot more sense now that I know David's history and what Cyril is all about.

When I first watched it, Jeffrey Donovan immediately reminded me of Val Kilmer. They don't look much alike, but the voice and speech is very similar, as well as the intensity in the eyes.

The Susan Branca (Vera Farmiga) character is interesting. She has a look to her that is kind of unique, almost like an animated pc game character.

I like that all of the characters on the show are flawed in some way, and struggle with their own issues/demons, etc. Very real.

To me, the guy that plays Rivers looks a lot like Ralph Fiennes, only better-looking.

Yes, I agree: The flaws that each of them deals with remind me a whole lot of "real life."

Apparently this week is the last of the first season.
Lenny has heard a lot of good things about this series.
I'm hoping for reruns so we can watch it from the beginning.

I got a bonus today... the episode of 'Monk' for my wife's season pass was actually a Touching Evil that I haven't seen yet. Scheduling error in my favor! biggrin.gif

I think you will like it, Trudy. The two "stars" are very charismatic, and as dobosdelights pointed out, all the characters have their flaws, demons, quirks, etc.

: )

I am almost positive USA will be rerunning it, likely throughout the summer. And they also show it at various times during the week.
