There is a new feature on the site (it's not yet linked to the MAIN site, since I'm testing it to shake out any bugs or issues!)... An Over The Rhine Photo Gallery! Currently, it's got just a few pictures in it -- only a couple from the recent Canal Street shows.

It's a place where pictures of the band -- both 'official' and fan-submitted pictures -- can be displayed.

Putting them in a Gallery (instead of in the forums) is a good way for us to keep our bandwidth usage at a reasonable level.

Don't bother clicking the "login" link at the top right of the Gallery... For the time being, no one can log in though you can leave comments on pictures. The Gallery is still in development on the site, so the look might change a bit as I experiment with features.

If you've got photos you'd like to see in the Gallery, follow these steps:
* Email Drew (drew@drewvogel.com) letting him know that you've got pictures.
* Tell him how many pics, WHERE they were taken (name of venue, city, state), and DATE.
* He'll email you back with an email address where you can send them and further instructions.

As always, let me know what you think of this new feature!

Better block out some time Drew, I think there's going to be a lot of pictures.

Since drew probably doesn't feel like posting the dozens of pictures of Kylie and Keith duking it out, maybe we should try Webshots. You can post pics for free there and it seems like a good place to put all the pictures of Orchardites that were taken this weekend. Cause I don't think I'm alone in knowing that I want to see all of them, even the crappy ones.

When we had a similar get-together last summer with people from my "other" board, we put together a CD of every known picture from the weekend, and sent copies to everyone who was there. If those who took pictures wanted to do something like that, I'd be more than happy to put it together and burn 20-30 copies for everyone (or vine it, either way). Just a thought.

I'm for making a CD with all pics... That sounds like a great idea.

Since we've got a fair amount of server space, I don't think we need to go to Webshots at this point.

Adding the pictures to the site isn't a lengthy process. The glut of pics from Canal Street will be a nice litmus test!

Actually, Jeanne, you don't need to resize them... The Gallery will do that automatically when I send them up. Since you've got so many pics, you might need to send them to me in batches (or on a CD).

If you want to go the CD route, just drop me an email or private message and I'll give you my address.

OK, cool, I wasn't sure about webspace and all that, for most people it's pretty hard to come by.

I'd still be up for doing a CD with all the original hi-res, non-resized pics, for anyone who wants one. Or doing a quick vine for the 20-30 people who want one shouldn't be hard either.
