Whenever I read kierkegaard I feel like I am getting 10% of what he is saying, but that 10% always leaves me feeling full. It's the whole indirect communication thing, it's like he really didn't want you (as a reader) to totally get what he is saying cause he wanted you to have to work it out yourself (ie have an existential experience with the truth).

Hey this is incredibly close to my personal theory about gender, relationships, and everything (AKA Troy's Theory of Gender, Relationships, and Everything), which suggest that:
Women are Evil
Men are Stupid.
I've been spreading this philosophy for years (including several times previously on this site), and have convinced so many people that I am thinking of upgrading to cult status. I think that I would be a very good cult leader. I just have to work on the wacky hair cut and the piercing stare

Me, too, Katherine!
: )
Thing is, a few years back, I selected Grindstone because I was working late the night before the Derby, and one of my co-workers had just said, "I'm going to pick Editor's Note because it reminds me of the newspaper" (which is where we both work!), and I scanned the list of horses entered and said, "Hmm, yeah, and here we are, with our noses to the grindstone, so I'm picking that horse!"
And, as you all may know, Grindstone DID win the Kentucky Derby that year ~ and, because he was "coupled" with (same owner or something) Editor's Note, my co-worker and I BOTH won some money! In fact, she also won more $$ than I did because she had put more in ... even though her horse didn't win, which seemed a little unjust, somehow, but still!
: )
That's the only time I've ever actually put money on the race, aside from some friendly wagering amongst friends, primarily what "number" of horse we think is going to win.
