When do we get a new MP3 rarity of the month please - Let it be has been there far too long

i actually e-mailed OTR about this and was told that it was a privelage and not a right...which is true, i guess.

also, it was mentioned in the e-mail that OTR are planning a live album that would include stuff they usually put up on the rarity of the month, and therefore, would not be posting a new one in a while.

WHAT?!? WHO TOLD YOU IT WAS A PRIVELAGE (sic) AND NOT A RIGHT?? That's asinine. Don't call it a "rarity of the month" then. That stuff is just asinine. I want names. Seriously.

really? that sure doesn't sound like a Karin or Linford kind of reply...

they hinted that something might be up re: a "tweener" (as Karin call 'em) while at dinner in dayton, but they were playing it pretty coy (Karin would have spilled the beans, Linford had to shhhh her).

ok, i geuss i should post the e-mail here to clarify. i don't think it was meant in a negative way at all. sorry to cause alarm, i may have misunderstood initially...

here is the exact text of the e-mail:

"Also, we've been discussing the possibility of putting out a "live" album, much of which consists of rare MP-3's that we were planning to use in the coming months. If we release them, we don't want to let the cat out of the bag beforehand so to speak. We'll be deciding soon... (We see the free MP-3's as a fun bonus, not an obligation.) "

Does it make sense to get back to the original topic? Is anybody listening? MP3 rarity of the month had been something to look forward to in between releases of new music... OTR is one of those rare bands whose live and covered tunes regularly meet or exceed their recorded music greatness...

Making sense is so constraining!

Catching a falling tree sounds risky. The whole idea reminds of a verse from an old Neil Young song (actually my favorite neil young song) that make almost no sense at all. "The Last Trip to Tulsa"...

OtR could head off this problem fairly easily by changing the name of the feature from MP3 Rarity of the Month to something else; 'Current MP3 Rarirty' would work.

Or they could change it to...

"Current" "mp3" "Rarity"

That way they could release album tracks... or scans of 1991 Topps Al Leiter cards.
