you know, i was avoiding this bit until fallingleaf called me out. so here it is-

when i was in high school my oldest brother came home from college and stuck 'til we have faces in my CD player. (i think that was right about the time 'patience' was being released.) you all know what happened next. otr just seeped into my life and wouldn't leave. each song uncannily decides to speak its mind when it coincides with the state of my life. otr cds have been known to crawl into my stereos and threaten to stay forever. i don't seem to mind.

the facts- i live in los angeles now, and work in the 'industry,' visual-creativity-wise. i like it more here than i expected, though i still miss tall green trees in the breeze, a good midwestern window-rattling thunderstorm, mom's chicken pot pie with homemade biscuit crust, and autumn. i get to have holiday snow- if i'm lucky -and chicken pot pie on my Christmas visits home to st. louis.

meanwhile, i get the pacific ocean, snowy mountains (good for snowboarding!), swimmin' pools and movie stars. my kittens, pagoda & mushu, make it bearable.

what else can i say. i'll give my favorites and go. feel free to stay and have a drink.

Nice to meet you. Great bio.

I once saw Wilco in Lawrence, Ks. They were not so excited about the crowd. Jeff took a break from the stage. He came back looking as if though he had enjoyed some substances during his absence. Then he proceeded to throw a deli tray into the audience followed by the smashing of his guitar into the floor.

Good show though.

I'm checking out some of your work right now. I like what I see. Not that I have money to hire you, or anything, but I almost went into advertising myself (and I still have a web design job every once in a while). Good stuff. Welcome to the Orchard. smile.gif

Hi Melanie, good to see you here!

A Brahms lover, good for you! Two of my all-time favorite recordings are Carlos Kleiber's 4th Symphony and John Eliot Gardiner's Deutsches Requiem.

Welcome to the orchard.
