Hello to all of you! I am new to this forum thing, and as you can see, I don't even know how to gve myself a pretty picture (analog?). Help, anyone???

A 23 year old Ohio native, I now reside in Indiana with my husband of *almost* one year. I have been an OtR fan for about six years now. The independent release of Good Dog Bad Dog sold me for life, and OtR is my favorite band. I try to introduce their music to everyone I know. Something about them strikes a chord deep within. Maybe it's the lyrical poetry, maybe it's their quirky onstage personalities, maybe it's the way Karen's voice reminds me of the feel of the ocean lapping against my bare feet in the moonlight... (And since I don't get to experience THAT too much here in Indiana...)

It feels rather presumptuous to assume people want to hear what I have to say! But when have I ever been one to shut up just because people aren't listening?

I graduate from college in two weeks and a day with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. It's been a 6 year trek due to my incredible knack for indecision and changing my major three times. I am very excited to finally get out in the field and do what I love (while getting paid!) Enough of this "doing it for free" thing! I don't care what grade I teach, I love all kids--especially the ornery ones.

I have a lot of interests--art and music especially. In fact, I am always in search of good music, so if you have any recommendations, send them this way!

Welcome PD,
I'm glad you found us.
My neice is a teacher of seventh grade...BY CHOICE!! She must be either crazy or Mother Theresa incarnate.
If you can make the above statement, you must be in the right field.
Enjoy your stay.

My wife has been a teacher on and off since about 1971 or '72, so I am glad to see your enthusiasm. If school were only kids and no administration and paperwork and non-education programming, etc. it really would be cool.

But from your brief post, your words will be welcome. But after one post you are no longer a forum virgin. I hope you can get the picture thing straightened out.

Welcome, again, PD

Welcome to the orchard! My wife teaches 5th grade, she'll give you some of her ornery kids if you like. Seriously, it's great to see another enthusiastic teacher hitting the schools.

Talk all you want, someone will usually listen.
