This is a rare opportunity to catch Jayhawks frontmen Gary Louris and Mark Olson as they reunite in Louisville for the first time in more than ten years to benefit 91.9 WFPK. Louris and Olson last shared a Louisville stage at Phoenix Hill Tavern in 1995. Apparently there's a "blues fest" at Music Hall in Cincinnati in March next year with Bobby Blue Bland. I'll definitely be there for that!
Other than that, Dustin Kensrue, Chris Conley and Anthony Ranieri are playing the Mad Hatter next month. I'm really stoked for that one. |

I saw Bobby Blue a few years ago at the Eureka Springs Blues Festival. He graciously stepped in when the scheduled perfomer's daughter died suddenly in a car accident. He put on a great show! I wish Peter Mulvey came around the PacNW more often... I got spoiled with the at least twice a year SW Ohio show...

Zappa Plays Zappa is tomorrow night... ya hozna! I got a chance to help pick the setlist (all ticket holders got to submit 5 choices from their list of 68 available songs).

bummer... wish Kris & Jeff were swinging through Eugene. Sisters, OR, would be a nice retreat... small tourist town... I don't know. I'm not driving there for this show... high school auditoriums aren't "ideal" for shows.

Saw the Jeremy Pelt Quintet (a trumpet led jazz quintet) on Friday... great show. Really popped, swung, bopped, whatever you wanna call it. 7 songs, 90 minutes... not a boring moment, IMO.
