So is anyone else watching this? I was a big INXS fan in high school--Kick absolutely amazed me growing up and I was very truly saddened by Michael's passing. As I write this is I've only seen the first five minutes or so. I'm excited, but at the same time I'm afraid it will make me lose respect for the band and taint my memories... *crossing my fingers*

Aaron...as INXS themselves would say, no worries, mate. Everyone has bad days. Now...onto tonight's episode! I'm so glad we got to hear Mig do Frampton again, and I thought it was cool (even though it was a bit corny) to invite Jordis and Marty to join him. I'm becoming more and more sure he's going to win it all. I was disappointed to see Deanna in the bottom three tonight, but I thought she sounded great on Never Tear Us Apart. I also completely dug the Bohemian thing she had going on...yum! I like Suzy's voice, but her stage presence bothers me. Jessica was ok, but I'm glad they finally put her out of her misery. My friend Wendy and I had started to call her "Old Yeller." It was sad, but it needed to be done (I just wish they could have dumped JD first!).

I find it unbelievable that JD was not in the bottom 3...his performance on Tuesday was by far the worst of the night, in my opinion. I am hoping for a change in the rules soon so INXS can get rid of him...because obviously he has too many fans to end up in the bottom 3.
Why can't we vote on who we disliked the most one week. -------------------- Stiv McFadden;

it shoulda been j.d., he butchered "as tears go by" last night. it was horrific. and i think everything that ty or deanna sings sounds exactly the same. she does the growly/bluesy thing on every freakin' song. i really thought jessica was might win it all (lol), she was mediocre every week, then nails the inxs song to save herself. plus, i'm gonna miss her because she is hot as hell, gonna miss that cute belly of hers.
i think marty is going to win, anybody that can give "hit me baby one more time" any credibility and make one of the worst songs of all time sound respectable had to score some points. i still say jordis is the best, marty gonna win. which is probably best for jordis. as i said before, i'd watch the show just to hear jordis sing one song. I thought tonight was a prettly lame show overall. There wasn't anything that excited me, and I thought Mig and Jordis (my normal favorites) were somewhat painful to watch. Deanna did ok, but I'd still rather hear her rip some Melissa Ethridge song, or maybe some Janis Joplin (I'd be her Bobby McGee any day...). Hopefully we'll get lucky and JD will get dumped tomorrow...

I was pretty shocked that Jordis was not in the bottom three. She must have as many or more fans than JD.
I was kinda looking forward to hearing her sing an INXS song...oh well... I don't feel Ty is right for INXS, I think he is great...just not for INXS... -------------------- Stiv McFadden;

i'm glad deanna is gone. everything she did sounded the same, and her stage presence looks like she had cramps. giving every damn song the growly, bluesy treatment was just getting old. and ty needs to learn every song isn't a broadway show tune (and dude, cut that stupid looking hair). now, jd needs to go go next...
could we vote jessica back on? i miss her cute little belly. oh, still think jordis is the best, at least she had a sense of humor about her "dream on" fiasco...and she tried. but marty (or maybe mig now) is gonna win. At this point I'd be OK with anyone but JD winning. His anti-social tendencies are so annoying. I do think he's talented--at least writing and arranging. His voice annoys me somewhat in that it sounds nothing like his speaking voice. I seriously wonder if I'd like him more than Mig (my current favorite) if he wasn't such a tool. Jordis was tough to watch the other night--I think one of the worst performances overall, not just by her. I too was kind of looking forward to her singing an INXS song. I did find a MP3 of Mig and her singing "Mystify" with INXS for some radio station. It's pretty amazing... I can't find the link, but if anyone wants it PM me and I'll e-mail the file to you...

JD has ugly rabbit teeth.
He also looks stupid when he sings. Like he's about to launch into a Porky Pig imitation. Notice sometime how he never gets emotional when a fellow housemate leaves the show--he's simply not moved by it while everyone else is bawling their eyes out. Notice still more how no one ever asks to work with him, and how he has to foist himself upon others (IMO) in an attempt to appear like he's being a team player. JD will never be the a singer for INXS because he's an arrogant, unhappy, pretentious sad little man. Not that I have feelings either way about him, though. -------------------- "I grow old … I grow old …

No thoughts yet on this weeks shows?
J.D. may actually be gone this week!! Suzie is really starting to grow on me too, I am still just not sure if she could front the band though. I really think Mig will be their next singer. But I may change my mind again. -------------------- Stiv McFadden;

jordis completely nailed "imagine", a really tough song to sing. plus, she really did kind of put her own stamp on it, which again is hard to do on such a well known, familiar song.
still think marty or mig will win but, jordis is by far the most talented. which is probably a good thing for her...as i've said, i'd drop a few bucks to see her live. jd once again, sucked. freakin' poser butchered "suspicious minds". it was horrific. I agree about Jordis, although her playing acoustic did seem kind of overkill with all the other instruments, but hey, it's all good. Did you notice the cheers when she hit the high notes without a problem J.D. was fine for the first 45 seconds to 1 1/2 min and then just totally botched it after that. Also, is anybody else getting bored with Ty? I like him, but it feels like watching the same performance week after week... -------------------- Stiv McFadden;

I really liked the show last night. Everyone was amazing. I dont' think Suzie was head and shoulders above everyone else like the band seemed to think--and I'm not sure she deserved the encore, but she was pretty cool. "Wish You Were Here" was amazing..."Imagine" slayed me (though I too thought her guitar was a little distracting). "You Can't Always Get Want You Want" rocked my ass off, but I think my absolute favorite was "Live and Let Die." Mig just has so much talent and looks so comfortable up on the stage. He makes me want to enjoy him. I have to admit to a bit of a hetero-man-crush on him too. He's like the dude you want to be. Anyway...time to go fix a tractor or drink some Jack or something...

This is such bullshit!! The only reason JD is still around is because he brings drama and Mark Burnett wants him around the house. Did you see the look on everyone else's face when they announced Ty? I think they really thought the witch was dead. Props to Ty for his comments too. I'm glad he had the balls to say it. Anyway...I'm going to go sulk now...

grrr!
Agreed on the choice being bullshit! However, I disagree regarding Ty's comments. I don't feel they have any merit. He was in the bottom three multiple times because he had bad performances, and America didn't like those performances. Same thing with Suzie, Jessica, etc. Why does it have to be for some other reason? -------------------- Stiv McFadden;

QUOTE(stivmc @ Aug 31 2005, 09:21 PM) Well, with all due respect, because you can't rightfully answer that unless you come from that place. There's no way you nor I will ever be able to fathom 150 years of opression or bearing the brunt of mob rule toward our heritage just because of our skin color. We may say we can empathize or draw comparisons to certain racial groups or social classes today, but the bottom line is we can't. Ty may not have turned in the best performances, but he was not alone. Suzie was in the bottom three more than Ty was, and Jessica too. Ty was far and away the best of the three tonight, and he got rewarded by being given the boot. So, wheter it be racism, network politics, or half of each, Ty got the shaft unfairly--whether he interchanged one word with another or not. Doesn't take Einstein to find the error in that logic. And as far as Jordis goes, she has been waning lately. She didn't do Imagine justice. It felt tired and second rate to me last night. She was not able to sustain the notes like she should have and transition from one crucial note to anther in the chorus. I believe she is psyching herself out lately, and her performances are suffering because of it. -------------------- "I grow old … I grow old …

I've really come to dislike the Wednesday shows. Part of it is because I don't like it when someone has to go home (unless, of course it would be JD) but also I think the performances suck. I hate to say this but I think the reason the performances suck is that the vocalists aren't given much to work with. As much as I like INXS, they really only had five or six decent songs: Mystify, Never Tear Us Apart, Need You Tonight, Devil Inside, Suicide Blond, and maybe The Stairs. There were a couple of other hits, but they all kind of sounded the same. Plus, with the exception of Never Tear Us Apart and Mystify, the vocal isn't all that impressive or important anyway. INXS was a great cross of guitar driven rock with the dance-pop of say Duran Duran or Simple Minds. Any schmo (with the exception of JD, of course) could sing most of their stuff without screwing up too badly. I've been so annoyed with the band being fussy about how the "performances" have been sucky lately. It's your stupid songs, morons! They're not going to sound as good as Jordis singing Imagine or Ty singing You Can't Always Get What You Want or Marty doing Wish You Were Here!
