I know it's hard to pick just five but that forces some decisiveness. (I think it would be interesting to see what OTHER 4 bands devoted OTR fans enjoy.)

I'll get it started (and I'll be honest although I know you'll laugh!)

1. Styx
2. The Beatles
3. OTR
4. Chris Isaak
5. Led Zeppelin

Oh, so mainstream, so uncool, I know. But the truth is the truth! : - )

1/permanent
Chroma Key

2-4/fairly steady
Faith No More / Mr Bungle
Radiohead
Silverchair / Dissociatives

5/rotating and currently...
Porcupine Tree

5 is too short of a list... the artists vying for Spot #5 are about 20 long... including Elliott Smith, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Tori Amos, Toad the West Sprocket, King's X, Extreme, Ani Difranco, et cetera...

OTR's probably #7 or 8 (maybe)...

OTR
Kim Taylor
Cowboy Junkies
Sarah McLachlan
Big Head Todd

Man, if the Stone Roses had stuck together and made a couple more albums, they'd probably be on my list...both their albums are definitely among my favorites.

I need to hear more Ride stuff, I had one album (Tarantula) but wasn't very impressed, but I've never heard their earlier stuff...and I did really enjoy the first Hurricane #1 album (although the second one, with a couple exceptions, was pretty bad)

5.) The Black Crowes
4.) Harry Connick, Jr.
3.) Indigo Girls
2.) The Roots
1.) Jump, Little Children

Yeah, OtR doesn't make the top 5...which I guess is kinda weird. I just like the people on the forum. My fav band, JLC, has possibly the worst fan forum of all time...otherwise I'd be there more often. Don't get me wrong, OtR is definitely in the top ten, but I didn't discover them til' well after the above top five had been established.

This list is hard for me since so much of the music I listen to is up-and-coming artists. These are my top 6 more "established" artists, however. (I don't believe in multiples of 5.)

Sam Phillips
Tess Wiley
Radiohead
Over the Rhine
Sixpence None the Richer
Sufjan Stevens

Honorable Mentions:
Aimee Mann, Glen Phillips/Toad the Wet Sprocket, Patty Griffin, David Eugene Edwards, Drive-By Truckers, Rilo Kiley, Rufus Wainwright, Wilco, Hem
